Eco Friendly Jewelry Company

Casalinda Studio is an elegant, sculptural collection of Eco-Friendly silver jewelry which was launched in 2007 by mother/daughter team Linda DaPra and Jennifer Dermer.  Linda was an Applied Design / Metalsmith major from San Diego State University while Jennifer graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NY with a degree in Fashion Marketing and PR.

The collection is inspired by California native flowers, mudcracks, and other natural elements.  Casalinda pieces, ranging from $60 to $450, use only recycled, reclaimed, and vintage precious metals, stones, and pearls. Any new gemstones and beads are produced in the U.S. or by Fair Trade Federation suppliers and the jewelry is packaged in recycled materials.

Casalinda Studio draws inspiration from the mountains, deserts, and ocean of Southern California. The California native flowers pieces are influenced by the works of A.R. Valentien, who was commissioned by philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps to paint these endangered flowers. Linda is drawn to the dichotomy between rough, imperfect elements in nature and beautifully fashioned metal art.

In addition to maintaining an eco-friendly collection, Casalinda Studio regularly contributes to the Designers 4 Africa charity, where artists donate their creations to be auctioned off for the cause.

Small boutiques, galleries, and museum gift shops are currently carrying Casalinda Studio, including Trios Gallery in Solana Beach, CA, and the San Diego Natural History Museum in San Diego, CA.  Pieces can also be purchased at www.casalindastudio.com, including custom orders.
