ALEC opposes EPA Tailoring Rule, supports biomass

On December 3, the nonpartisan American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) passed a resolution expressing full support for woody biomass and seeking the repeal of the EPA’s Tailoring Rule, calling it “risky and costly.”

ALEC indicated in the resolution that repeal of the Tailoring Rule has broad bipartisan support across the country, and that the the EPA policy would do great harm to the biomass energy sector which is crucial to America’s green energy future.

The resolution concludes with a call to action for the “nation’s governors, legislatures, and members of Congress to compel the EPA to overturn the Greenhouse Gas Tailoring Rule” and asks the EPA to end policies that harm sustainable biomass.
