Blast of Solar Radiation Hitting The Earth!

According to a couple of solar weather websites, a sudden and unexpected blast of solar radiation hit the earth early on Jan. 7, with a Kp reading of 7, with possible higher levels predicted. As of now the peak was a 7 Kp, which prompted a warning of a severe geomagnetic storm, which is still ongoing, though the Kp level has gone down to 5. Aurora’s are expected to be visible down to the 50th parralel. A G3 geomagnetic storm is ongoing, so its possible there could be problems with GPS, satellites, power systems, power plants, and as far south as Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Oregon. Also look for increase volcanic and earthquake activity. Stand by!
