A Look At The Spanish Far Right Scene

You will have to excuse the translation as its not the greatest but here is a look at the far-right political scene in Spain.

With different names, the Spanish right wing is set around a dozen parties registered by the Interior Ministry, but only a handful of them was presented to the general elections of 20N, which totaled about 75,000 votes geographically widely dispersed.

Of these, almost 60,000 went to the xenophobic organization Platform for Catalonia (PXC) led by Josep Anglada, while the Spanish Falange JONS, common in electoral confrontations, did not reach 3,000.

Tripled those votes a party with less history, Spain 2000, surpassing the 9,000 ballots, while National Democracy even counted 2,000 votes.

In recent years the greatest triumph of this type of right-wing political forces must be sought in the municipal elections.

Thus, the party of Anglada, which bases its ideology to employ “hard” against illegal immigration, and a hole was made in 2007 in several municipalities in Catalonia and in the last local elections in May last year, tripling the number of councilors from 17 to 67 – with 66,800 votes.

Other parties have also gotten a municipal councilor in the last year have been Falangist Movement of Spain, has a councilor in the Cantabrian town of Santona, or Spanish Alternative, also a councilor in that community, in particular in Barcena de Pie de Concha.

Of all these parties is the oldest of the Spanish Falange the JONS, founded in 1934 by Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera and defends the Spanish patriotism and revolutionary syndicalism.

Eleven other parties registered by the Ministry are the term Falange in his name and so far none of the attempts to join has been prolific.” Source

While the Spanish scene isn’t as successful as its other European counterparts, the PxC are a rising party with a rising star in its leader Josep Anglada. Speaking of Mr. Anglada..
The Police yesterday arrested Alexandre M. E., 20, for attempting to attack the leader of the xenophobic Platform for Catalonia (PXC), Josep Anglada. The young man is accused of throwing a skateboard to also municipal councilor in Vic (Osona) and breakthe mirror of his car on Tuesday April 24 in a protest against the mayor. The young man faces the crimes of damages against the fundamental exercises and civil liberties, as explained a spokesman for Mossos. Source
