Happy Birthday Oscar

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Oscar is fifteen (15) today. In the last couple of months he has lost some weight, but remains very active. He loves his wet food, but is less interested in dry food although he can and does eat it and had his teeth checked not long ago. Since we moved back to the UK he has become far more confident around visitors and far more interested in sitting on the sofa with us.

When he was young he chipped his back leg and we thought he might suffer in old age, but he is actually even more active now he is thinner. He is milking it as well: gets extra rations of wet food morning and evening and is more than welcome to it.

A handsome and cheeky kitten

Still handsome and still cheeky

He really is a special cat and continues to give us so much love, and we of course love him back.

Oscar is fifteen! Who on earth is Oscar? I get it! ‘He’ must be some wonder-cat, one of those extraordinary animal in the lineage of Mister Ed, the talking horse; or perhaps Milou (re-named Snowy for the Anglos) the super-intelligent companion of the inseparable Belgian couple made of Tintin & Captain Haddock. I read the full article. I even analyzed “his” diet and my concerns vanished when learning that Oscar is milking well. In my human vocabulary, a feline is usually lapping its milk, but never mind. I looked twice at the colored photographs of the kitty, which I decrypted with extra attention, but I found nothing in the scenery containing three rustic chairs and, a wooden round table, which is evidently serving both as a breakfast table and as a desk for homework’s consisting probably for the compositions of any first draft for further redactions. I saw, in the second photographie down below, a fire place and an iron stove which certainly radiates heat towards the little round bedding of the cute little animal which certainly crawls in a tight circle for napping while its master is busy with the various electronic equipment of the living room. Sorry! I mend Family room, because let’s never forget Oscar is the epicenter of the family. I found nothing neither extraordinary nor revealing in both pictures, which indicates that the extraordinary must remain a carefully kept secret and must stay as a profound mystery.

… Now on the multicontinental covering web-site of Before Its News, I am now waiting for the next articles about the presentation of Toto the tarantula & Victor the domesticated viper; Caroline the singing canary and Goldie the silent gold-fish, which will also be fascinating.
Now seriously, I really took the time to read the article after been attracted by its title and, – - – evidently, after watching the whole story on the big screen, I even took the time to fire-up the desk-top computer in order to type a comment. – - – Bravo Chris Marshall, you must be a very good man, worthy of loving care and also dignified to the full attentions of the internautes’ community. LOL! We all need some tenderness, after all.

As for my not so nice part of my comment; O! WTF!

        END.

SECOND COMMENT: After this first comment submitted this mid-morning -French/Swiss Alps time zone, I went for my walk through the campus nearby. Not the most interesting statement coming from me, but the subject of the instant which stands around a domesticate cat named Oscar, should not prevent me to tell that my regular round-about, as per medical prescription from my cardio-vascular surgeon, takes me daily among the commonly used trail of the dog walkers. I got to know from sight all those dogs either big or small; either barking or sniffing friendlily. I even recognize their masters who, for one is a lone man giving the appearance of been a hunter, and mainly for the others who are forming several assemblies of women who are either regrouped in small babbling groups or forming large packs regularly yelling when their dogs are fighting among themselves. Occasionally, not when it is cold but only during warm season I meet some lone cat which has left its home, likely occupied by members of the faculty of the university. Those lone cats during their escape are no play but all business; which is a no non-sense quiet activity consisting not at running around as the stupid dogs do, with their hanging tongue, but at catching rodents. The cats are smart, they don’t waste precious energy at running after the squirrels and the pigeons, no no they don’t do that! Dogs do run after the uncatchable and catch nothing, while kitty turning into a real hunter patiently lays in…

… while kitty turning into a real hunter patiently lays in wait.

In my walk, I naturally was still absorbed by the article by Chris Marshall about Oscar. I must say that a small kitten (name withheld) has given joy to my elderly mother while I was laying on a hospital bed for three months, but really! Why make an article centered around a house cat, was the question running into my mind. I got the answer to this question at looking at the huge bulk of the mountains which overlooks us. I distinguished the snow covered summits through the pine trees; I felt the cold air rushing inside my sweats which gave me a slight shiver and then, returned into my mind that all this beautiful world around was created for us. I remembered that St. Anthony (de Padua) used the service of a donkey to convert an entire town. This miraculous case is recorded in the annals of the Church. I remember also that this same saint, in frustration at the apathy of some villagers, went preaching to the fishes of a nearby pond, and the fishes gathered as a crowd of people had done when Our Lord Jesus preached to the people of Capharnaüm. The poetess Silvia Platt, also in frustration, recited her poetries to a herd of cows in the English countryside, and the bovines stopped ruminating while she declaimed her verses, as is told by some friendly witnesses (I hear).
Truly, an article about a house cat, is not out of place. Happy birthday Oscar.

        END.
