From the lifetime Welfare state to the eternal Warfare State

The story so far

Don’t mistake this new mugshot as yet more evidence of violence against my person as a result of outspoken truths in these columns. As the more wrinkly Sloggers will recall, yes, I was assaulted on my own property in Aquitaine six years ago by person or persons unknown, who left the scene with the words ”Shut the fuck up or else” (in unaccented English). This time, however, your correspondent was as usual in too much of a hurry, and thus fell victim to the African sandy road with invisible rock features.

The cops really couldn’t have been nicer. I was escorted back to my apartment close by, all the relevant admin staff there were fully briefed….and I have to confess I was profoundly touched by how – during the rest of the day and the one following – everyone I know here said ”Sorry, sorry, sorry” [the way only Gambians do] and suggested every which way kind of healing remedy. My housekeeper and eclectic tough-love business partner Hallimotou did her famed Florence Nightingale impression and now, come Friday, I am back to something approaching Old Normal…rather than the falsely-billed New Normal currently on sale to all Western liberal ideologues at Anthony St John Uranus Lynton Bluerrrgh & Partners, priced only at the complete destruction of directly elected Freedom of whatever homeland you inhabit that he has infected with his, ”Hi, my name’s Tony and I’m here to help you”.

What Britain’s former Prime Minister did was, effectively, take the UK Labour Party’s Welfare State – too often abused by Communist fellow-travellers like Derek Hatton – and simply pretend to be ‘New Labour’ as a thinly-veiled cover for carrying on the Thatcherite destruction of honest local communities (and any nascent signs of broad cultural agreement) in the land of their birth).

Worse still, he went along with the EUNATO War on Terror fiction that warned us of existential WOMD dangers from Iraqui weapons – the last of these proving to be a couple of panier bicycles equipped with suicidal wheel-bombs…hardly the ”established on the ground intelligence warning of ability to deliver mass destruction to European citizens”. [Thanks for that howler, Daily Telegraph]

A telling moment in this crazy drive towards ”the Arab Spring” ho-ho was when Blair attended a NATO self-congratulatory Turkish masturbation fest in the aftermath of shock and awe, and addressed Dubya as ”Mister President”, to which CIA Bush Jr reacted with the words, ”Yo Blair, how’s it hangin’?”

Later came some mysterious money-troubles for Blair [exploited by his successor Brooon from the Manse] that led Teflone Tone to embrace the eager arms of Jamie Dimon and thereafter become a shameless whore for any campaign designed to sell all things global – banks, viruses, false climate warning claims, vaccines, currency values, scare tactics and other blatant re-writing of recent history.

The re-writes also included zero airplay for Reagan promises made to Gorbachov at Reykyavik, demonisation of Russian speaking Ukrainians, and ceasefires ignored over the following years by Washington, the EU and Zelensky. Then Tricky Tony went on to become a registered conduit for the New Normalists, under the grand title The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. The Blairs have four children and eight residences around the world, estimated to be worth in excess of £24 million, but he structures his full net worth in an opaque manner, and estimates of his real net worth vary. In 2023, financial journalists associated with Off Guardian confided that Blair’s all-up personal wealth is £0.3 billion

Although thus far this post may seem to some a bit of a ramble, what we’re looking at here is the real legacy Anthony St John Blair left behind in the wake of his ocean-going megalomania Steamer. And it amounts to this: a failure to tackle any of the Welfare State’s tragic shortcomings, and the decision instead to turn Great Britain into the poodle of a Warfare State conceived and contrived by the unelected elites hermetically sealed within the walls of the Pentagon and and CIAHQ in Langley Virginia.

Blair was the conscious continuation of Thatcher. Cameron was the scheming heir to Blair. So it is hardly surprising that, after 2015, there was a literal downpour of Whitehall [ie, New World Order] Quislings answerable only to the seemingly irresistible power of the Globalist Climate Caper Central Banking Neolib/Neocon Alliance.

The mid to late 1970s saw the Mad Handbag [with the help of Saatchi & Saatchi] giving free rein to her desire to see every British failure as down to ”Red Tape” and ”Red Unions”. She called for financial product marketing ‘deregulation’: and once in power, this became a carte blanche to abolish any and all regulation in the City aimed at multinational business anti-social behaviours, foul Bourse practices….and to apply no more than a wrist-slap to those guilty of heinous cheating of the naive investor. There is precious little difference [when dealing with financial criminality] between de-regulation and no-regulation.

I fully accept that hindsight is a wonderful thing, but on the other hand I remember all too well a supper party in ”rapidly gentrifying” South London on Election Night in 1979 when I was the sole guest who asked the other diners whether giving untrammeled license to greed was really the antidote to cynical Trade Union greed.

To even up the score on this one, I must confess I didn’t in my worst nightmares imagine the social damage Margaret Thatcher would do: at the time, I saw her as a necessary counterbalance to the decades of rigid Leftist ignorance of social anthropology…following which [I felt certain] the SDP would lead us into a future of cultural accommodation representing some kind of cross between Swedish consensus and Swiss realism. Which just goes to show you my complete misreading of the level of thought that went into casting a vote at the time. [We all learn far more from optimistic failure than we do from fortunate success].

At this point, I think it would be useful to revisit the title of this year-end post ‘From the lifetime Welfare state to the eternal Warfare State’ and construct some sort of gains/loss analysis summarising long term loss of any real concept of decency versus medium term cultural damage which [we might imagine] can be fixed.

A lot of this involves the UK’s idiotic commitment to a ”special relationship” with Washington that clearly doesn’t exist and isn’t reciprocated. Washington wants us to be part of EUNATO because that makes the anti-Putin alliance look more solid. It led the Obama regime to pull every string available to make a Remain victory in 2015 look like a victory for blocist geopolitics.

Well, the dirty tricks failed – and plucky Blighty voted to leave the EU. What followed was a flagrantly anti-democratic diehard attempt to make all Leave voters out to be Little Englander racists, while at the same time justifying non-acceptance of the largest plebiscite in British history.

However narrow the margin of victory, such calculations of ”unfinished business” disregard the nature of British direct democracy: the first past the post is the winner….even if one needs a photo-finish. I’m the first to admit that our archaic FPTP voting system is stupid…but all those EU supporting Labour pro-Brussels voters had been offered the chance to change to proportional representation three years earlier….and voted solidly against it. So their ground against the final vote is hardly what you’d call ”high”.

Such double standards applied to protection of the regional bloc goal [when voting on geopolitical issues] are what makes it very hard for online commentators to take ideologically strangled cognitive dissonance seriously. And few motor-mouths exemplify this failing better than Gina Miller.

I am always put off by any public figure playing the ‘poor me’ card via the use of that awfully narcissistic term ”survivor of” …..in Gina’s case, headlining her experience of abuse and rape when her drink was spiked with rohypnol nearly twenty five years ago. James Cleverly was an idiot [he still is, and always will be, by the way] for joking about the subject, but like all those people who strike liberal poses, Mrs Miller just loves to exploit every opportunity to condemn – and explain why her True & Fair Party would be better.

Some fifteen years ago, Miller claimed she had ”no interest whatever in Westminster politics”; that turned out not to be true at all. If elected, she will [it seems] work hard to get the UK back into the EU. That wouldn’t be fair to the majority who voted to leave – see earlier – having been told by David Cameron that it was ”a once and only referendum on the subject”. So already we have evidence that the True and Fair Party is likely to be true and fair about things it wants, rather than what’s best for the country at large.

In the way our Gina depicts the European Union, sadly she gives a view on several dimensions that is palpably the result of an injudicious melange of received truth, wannabe fiction and good old fashioned ignorance. I never make accusations based on ignorance, but 22 years of retirement spent in France, Greece, Spain and Hungary knocked the ‘European ideal’ out of me for good. Orban in Hungary has been falsely vilified purely for having the measure of these greedy unelected gargoyles in general and Soros in particular; and the accusation of Greek tax ‘evasion’ (followed by undeserved punishment) was enough to convince anybody awake that the likes of centralist hawk Guy Verhovstadt are little more than rip-off carper-baggers that don’t declare their conflicts and just keep on lying without regard for the citizen.

I think we are, at this point, dealing with the nub of the problem: Greece was simply a dry run for the creation of a slave State, and now Britain is the latest hate-target for the blocist fanatics in search of Top Table troughing status in the New World Ordure of crazy Planetary top-down totalitarianism.

At the core of this childish game is the explanation of why trusting Brits gave up the proud tradition of a post-war welfare State [created by Nye Bevan, Clem Attlee and other courageously efficient reformers] in favour of a warfare State created by shadowy, distant Harry Limes once the catalyst Margaret Thatcher fell from grace.

Gina Miller is the persistent voice that refuses to accept the reality of Britain being (a) vindictively swamped by French-port illegal migrants [thank you Macron for welching on the agreement] and (b) being run by a traitor in Number Ten who will acquiesce in the blindingly obvious attempt to drag a United Kingdom failed State into neutered blocism.

So is she just daft? I think not.

Mrs Miller gets my respect because she gives out ”our beloved country” syrup, while hard-selling ”a better future” for it on the Eutanic rather than in the lifeboats: in short, she has a great deal of very high IQ between her ears, and so I feel the insistent need to seek more clarity about the motives behind her self-promotion….particularly in the light of the Investment Company she has formed with her third husband. For that reality doesn’t sit well with the True & Fair promise of her Party which is acting and provoking us towards being a minor outlying province of a globalist banker-run Planet.

For all her loud rhetoric about being a servant of the People arrived on Earth to clean up UK politics, many of us suspect her motives. But nihil desperandum, because in order to clear the air re any potential ulterior motive related to her business affairs, I’m offering Gina the chance to tell all of us about the investment clients for whom she works….as in, so to speak, the spirit of True, Fair and Transparent dealings. I think that’s fair, don’t you?

The company she runs with her third husband describes its business as ‘wealth management’. This is the opener on its SCM website homepage:

Fine words, however – as my great Aunt Lizzie Mellor was wont to remark – do not put butter on the parsnips: ”by the company you keep shall you be known”.

One thing the SCM site stresses early on is that their service is not for the Poor Folks:

All client money is managed via our Discretionary Portfolio services.  All investments are held in clients’ names and SCM Direct is given the discretion to manage and make the day-to-day investment decisions on that money. This service is often only available to wealthy high net worth people, or institutional investors such as pension funds.

Or as Basil Fawlty might warn, ”No riff-raff ”.

So it’s a sort of True and Fair service restricted to the phenomenally rich. However, it still doesn’t offer us the enlightenment of a client list. Now in my corporate days of yore as a media comms consultant and ad agency senior manager, the first thing we made public was exactly who our clients were, the advertising we did for them and why we liked working with them.

Discretion is all very well, but those trying to decide whether to vote for the True & Fair Party aren’t really interested in preferential treatment given to the Giga-Rich, because they’re struggling to survive in an existentially inflationary world. A good start, for instance, would be to know what advantage SCM and its clients might gain from investing in the Euro, Ukrainian banking, the US Dollar, Big Pharma, Brics currency, Gates-owned arable land, shorting the UK property market, destroying the meat marketing sector, promoting fears about climate change, taking a punt on beetle-eating futures and…you know, just a few other considerations here and there.

One of the better scripted lines the late great Humphrey Bogart was handed [when being told by his female client that she had nothing to do with the death of her husband] was, ”Well lady, I guess that comes under the heading of ‘you would say that’ ”.

Gina Miller espouses the principle of more honest, true and fair investments for the Citizen. But her company sell is aimed with clinical accuracy at at the 0.3% who already own 47% of the wealth.

So from here on, the floor is yours Gina baby: if all you have to offer is more discretion, secret squirrel and identification with the New World Order, what’s in it for the proles?

I await your response. But the Material World Power you sell to hidden clients is a long way from the New Beginning your political launch suggests for the British People.

I would suggest in all humility that you come clean; otherwise, you shall go down in a brief historical footnote as one of the many loaves and fishes promised to the British People on the road to perdition I headlined at the start of this essay on how ‘the lifetime Welfare State of reality became the eternal Warfare State of Poodle Britain’.
