Grandell Rehabilitation & Nursing Center Hosts Second Annual Out on a Limb Walkathon

LONG BEACH, NEW YORK — Grandell Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and Allied Orthopedics Prosthetic Rehab Center (A.O. Prosthetic Rehab) are hosting the second annual “Out on a Limb” Walkathon on Sunday, August 23 along the Long Beach Boardwalk. Check-in will be held from noon to
2 p.m., with the walk to follow immediately.

Crowds of amputees and non-amputees are expected to gather at the Long Beach Boardwalk by Grand Blvd. to walk and raise money for Camp No Limits Foundation, a nonprofit that benefits amputee children and teenagers. This year’s event hopes to raise $50,000 for the camp.

The event will feature face painting, a DJ, raffles and giveaways from over 10 local businesses and restaurants. Additionally, there will be informational booths to answer questions related to prosthetics and health care.

Both Grandell Rehabilitation and co-host A.O. Prosthetics Rehab Center are heavily involved with helping the Long Island amputee population. Grandell Rehabilitation currently serves as New York’s leading amputee prosthetic rehab center and A.O. Prosthetics Rehab is a premier prosthetics facility.
