Alert! Boston Prepares for Martial Law

Operation Jade Helm 15 is ending next week. Now the Department of Defense is planning for martial law in Boston.

Linxx Global Solutions provides tactical training to the military and the Department of State. It has taken out ads for “role players”. The ads say that Linxx will be providing “realistic scenario training to the U.S. Department of Defense”. The training will take place from September 10th through September 23rd in the Boston area.

Linxx is looking to hire male and female independent contractors to act as Role Players. The actors will play civilians on the battlefield. Some will also act as “opposing forces”.

Many people are wondering whether the scenarios include training to put down civil unrest and impose martial law.

The Role Playing jobs are called “fun, light part-time work”. The Role Players will act as “terrorists, bad guys and hostages.” In order to be hired, you must be able to operate small-arms. Those weapons will have blanks and paint cartridges. You must be 18 to 40 and in good shape. And you must be “comfortable around military working dogs.”

The mention of military working dogs suggests training will include crowd control or martial law scenarios. Martial law has been declared in the United States during riots and natural disasters.

The Role Players will be paid $20 an hour. They will meet each day in Everett, Massachusetts. Two different sessions are scheduled. The first session is September 10th through 12th. That session continues September 14th through 16th. The second session is from September 16th through the18th. That session resumes September 21st to the 23rd. These sessions will take place in several locations around the city.

Linxx provides tactical training including urban patrolling and urban tactics. The company also provides training in counter-narcotics and anti-terrorism. It supports many federal agencies other than the military. One of those agencies is the Department of Homeland Security.

The exercise in Boston has not received as much publicity as the Jade Helm 15 exercises. Nor has it caused the same public outcry.

Jade Helm 15 is a U.S. military training exercise in the Southwest that lasted all summer. It is scheduled to end September 15th.

Jade Helm 15 stirred up fears of imminent martial law. The operation involved 1,200 service members, including Special Forces. Marine expeditionary forces and the 82nd Airborne Division

participated as well. The exercise took place in Texas, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Utah and New Mexico.

Rumors and public unease about Jade Helm 15 became so bad that Texas Governor Greg Abbot directed the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercise. Gov. Abbot said that he wanted to ensure that Texans’ constitutional rights and civil liberties were not infringed.

It remains to be seen whether the same problems arise in Boston.

The biggest recent declaration of martial law in the U.S. took place on August 31, 2005. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin declared martial law after Hurricane Katrina. Under martial law, curfews were established. Residents were forcibly removed from their homes. And 1500 police officers were reassigned from search and rescue missions to stop widespread looting.
