Creflo Dollar Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting His Daughter

The 50 year-old prosperity televangelist is charged with simple battery, family violence and cruelty to children following an incident 1 AM today (Friday).  He was released this morning on a five thousand dollar bond.

Creflo Dollar says his 15 year-old daughter was acting disrespectfully when he refused to allow her to attend a party.  Another daughter, 19 year-old Alexandra, told officers her dad “put both hands around her sister’s neck and choked her for about five seconds.”  The younger girl reported that her father also beat her with his shoe.

The preacher admits wrestling the 15 year-old to the ground, but claims she hit him first.  He also reports spanking her. The alleged attack came to an end when Dollar’s co-pastor and wife, Taffi, arrived on the scene.

The girl wrote conflicting versions of the incident for deputies.  The first report, made in the presence of her parents, closely followed her father’s narrative.  Later , when she was separated from her parents, she reverted to the oral version  she gave officers.

Dollar, the pastor of World Changers Church International in an Atlanta suburb, has responded this way in Facebook: ““The fight has already been won. We are just walking it out. It’s already been determined that the devil is defeated through the victory Jesus won. Now we must walk in that victory in our own lives.”
