Apple announced its iOS7, yesterday in a press event held at their headquarters in Cupertino, California. iOS7 has been redesigned completely and now comes with new user interface. The update will be available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users for free.This new update will come along with hundreds of new features like Control Center, Notification Center, Air Drop, Safari, Siri, enhanced Photos, and improved Multitasking. It will also introduce iTunes Radio, a new Internet radio service available for free. This radio service will be based on the music that you listen on iTunes.

At the event two new iPhones namely iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C were also introduced which will also be based on iOS7. The 5S will be the latest update of iPhone whereas 5C will be low priced versions especially targeted at first time iPhone users.

Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Apple Inc. said, “iOS 7 is completely redesigned with an entirely new user interface and over 200 new features, so it’s like getting a brand new device, but one that will still be instantly familiar to our users,”

He further mentioned that the 700 millionth iOS device will be shipped next month and happily said, “We’re excited about what our hundreds of thousands of iOS developers are doing to bring great new features to their apps.”

iPhone 5S takes full advantage of 64-bit technologies and includes 64-bit kernel, drivers and libraries. The company has done re-engineering for all the built-in-apps to make them work well with 64-bit. iOS8 will also be providing seamless develop transition as it offers Xcode support and has ability to run 32-bit as well as 64-bit apps well. Deep integration with new Touch ID sensor is also availed and you get new features such as automatic image stabilization, Slo-MO video with 120 fps, and Burst Mode as it utilizes the features of new iSight camera sensor.

A redesigned Photos App – this introduces Moments which is a new way to organize your photos and videos and other video based on time and locations automatically.

New Siri – it now has male and female voices, Twitter search integration, Bing Web searching within the app, and Wikipedia integration

Safari Full-screen browsing – Safari now has redesigned user interface and new smart search field that helps in making your searches simplified. You also get new view for bookmarks and Safari tabs.

iTunes Radio – this incredible free Internet radio service gets you more than 200 stations with an incredible catalogue of music available at iTunes Store together with features that are only delivered by iTunes. Notably, this feature will be available only to the users residing in the US with the launch of iOS 7, others will have to wait for a while.

My iPhone Activation Lock – this lets you erase data, re-activate device that you’ve erased remotely. However, it will require your Apple ID and password for turning off Find My iPhone.
