7 Deadly Sins of Cell Phone Using Kids that Parents Got to Check

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Like an average human who is often attracted towards sinful things, kids using cell phone often get attracted to do certain dangerous things the nature of which make them no less than a sin with deadliest of aftereffects.

Below are the 7 deadly sins of any average cell phone using kid from which only parents can save their kids through proper monitoring, guidance, and disciplining.

1.    Downloading Damaging software

There are various interesting and eye catching apps available online. Some of these offer games and the others make things easier like a smart calculator or a dictionary. But kids prefer downloading games and apps that make music, video and other sundry download easier. These sometimes come added with heinous viruses and malware, downloading them prove harmful to the cell phone but kids either don’t know or don’t care.
  2.   Giving Cell Number to Complete Strangers

Teens in their excitement of befriending newer people often start communicating with complete strangers. This actually starts from chat rooms and social sites but soon end up in exchanging cell phone numbers and other contact details like home and school addresses and so on. This proves really fatal as this complete stranger can be a kidnapper, an extortionist or a sexual predator.

  3.    Keeping Social Networking Passwords Saved on the Phone

This is another damaging thing that most kids do. In fact, this is something which even the adults are found to be doing once in a while. By saving all the passwords on the phone one actually makes his or her account more easily accessible to anyone who uses the phone. Now if somebody hacks the person’s phone or simply gets hold of the device, the passwords will be all gone to the hacker. Imagine somebody else using your child’s Facebook or Tumblr account, this hacker can post fake things which can put your child into trouble and leave indelible marks on her reputation.

  4.     Publishing Too Much Information Online

Teens don’t understand that all the things on their mind are not to be shared online and publish lots of things that need to be censured. This can be a break up, a new boyfriend, where your child is hanging out this weekend, if she is cheer-leading her school’s soccer team, or pictures that she has just clicked at her summer trip to Alaska, and so on. This can be really dangerous especially if her things are publicly visible or if she has strangers as her friends. Her information can be misused by criminals or bullies online which can be really futile.

  5.     Sending a Sext to Friend on Request

Clicking a nude or semi-nude picture of self and sharing it through text, chat or mail is called sexting. This has become a kind of latest trend with various teenagers who don’t understand the damaging result of their impulsive moves. If any such picture gets spread among the masses, your child is doomed to disaster.

  6.     Frequenting to Age Inappropriate Sites

There are sites offering material strictly meant for adults. So, these can be pornographic videos or graphics or some kind of application. Kids tend to download these or simply visit those sites which are just not meant for them at all. Frequenting to such sites can be damaging in the long run.

  7.     Using Beyond the Available Data and Minutes

Most services offer a limited data use and talk minutes. This can be similar with the texting option. Sometimes it is possible to use beyond the available Internet data, talk minutes or text messages for a certain month, all that the service provider does is simply add the charges for the usage beyond the availability on to your bill which then empties your purse a little more than you’d planned!

So, how you’re going to correct your child and stop her from committing any of these deadly sins? Using mobile monitoring software on your child’s phone can make things go fine. The software will keep registering the usage and you’ll get to stay aware of the calls made, texts sent and Internet data used with complete details like the entire communication taking place over the chat, browser history and so on. Parents can even block or restrict some of the cell phone features with the help of the software.
