Raising teenagers is the primary concern of many working parents. They want their teenagers to become independent and responsible members of the society. A).   Teenagers are inexperienced:

Teenagers do not have adequate experience or judgment to tackle some of life’s most challenging situations. They make impulsive and irrational decisions much to the detriment of their future and that of their peers. They go by their feelings often, which are largely unpredictable due to mode swings. Hence teenagers should not keep anything secret from their parents.

B).   They should stay safe at all times:

Children and teenagers are exposed to dangerous neighborhoods, stranger danger, alcohol, drugs, dares, guns, financial scams, and unintentional accidents. It takes a lot of hard work to raise children and later, teenagers. It’s natural for a parent to worry about a child’s health and well-being.  But if children keep things secret, parents are unable to protect them in the wake of mishaps and accidents.

C).   They should get good grades:

If teenagers do not stay focused on their studies, their grades will suffer. This was true in our days and it’s still true now. Bad grades will deny them entry into prestigious educational and professional institutions. However, with a smart phone, a child or a teenager might look like he or she is working, while giving access to a myriad of sites, activities or communication with others. I’m not saying that children and teenagers shouldn’t have fun, but there’s a time for duty and there’s a time for work.

D).   They should become responsible members of society:

All the efforts from parents are directed towards making their teenagers independent, self-sufficient, and responsible members of the society. Nothing delights the parents more than balanced and established children. Thus, parents must reduce bad influences from the environment and from peers with negative habits or attitudes, so that their children keep advancing in the right direction. E).   They should develop healthy relationships:

Teenagers do not know the traits they should take into account when thinking about life partners. In fact, they shouldn’t even be considering having a life partner. While they understand this in theory, in practice, the moment they find someone attractive, they think they have found true love, the kind of love that moves mountains, and they think we just can’t understand them because we don’t know what it feels like. We do, and we know that attraction doesn’t mean love. Unfortunately, many teenagers fall for the wrong person and stay in abusive relationships in the name of “true love.”

F).   They participate in dangerous activities for no good reason.

When I was young, a dare consisted in calling someone I liked. Today, a dare consists on standing on top of a moving car and maybe jumping while it’s still in movement. I can’t believe the number of idiotically dangerous dares that teenagers do these days. Just look it up on YouTube if you don’t believe me. They do these dares because they want to impress their peers. Unfortunately, girls also dare each other these days.

I could go on, but I think it’s clear why parents of teenagers need a smart phone monitoring application. Unfortunately, many parents don’t get one because they think “My child would never do something like this.” Sadly, that’s exactly what parents who lost their teenagers thought.
