Daily Haze: Week 11 Waiver Wire Adds

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Last week of NFL byes. Time to stack your fantasy football benches.

If you are in a keeper league and have cleared any bye-week land mines, start adding players with potential to your bench. Potential to start this year if injury makes that possible down the stretch, or potential to start next year through free agency or trade.

If you are playoff bound, you also should be stashing players you wouldn’t want your opponents to use against you. So, for instance, Beanie Wells or Cedric Benson. Both guys are due back from injury soon. While they might not be good enough to crack your starting lineup, they could help your opponents. And you never know what could happen with high-volume starting running backs — both with fresh-ish legs — down the stretch.

Benson won’t return until Week 14 at the earliest, but another Green Bay running back is worth an add this week — James Starks. Starks could come out of the bye as the starter replacing Alex Green. Marcel Reece was the Oakland back to own in Darren McFadden’s absence. Should be owned in all formats with New Orleans on the schedule this weekend, even though they are saying that McFadden should be back.

Michael Vick appears to be done for a while after suffering a concussion. Nick Foles worth a look in 12+ team leagues. Jake Locker would be the better add this week, though, after returning from his shoulder injury. For desperate teams, consider Colin Kaepernick if Alex Smith misses time.

Not a whole lot out there at wide receiver this year. Speculative add of Pierre Garcon (if he was cut in your league) is a good move this week. He’s going to test the foot in practice. If it’s no good, you’ll know by the end of the week and can cut him. Cecil Shorts of Jacksonville has been a lonely bright spot on that team. Danario Alexander worth a look as well, as is Darrius Heyward-Bey.

I was fortunate enough to tell someone to start Greg Olsen against Denver on Twitter (@TheHazean) last week, and that paid off in a big way. He’s going to be hit or miss but worth a play in the right matchup.
