Fantasy Football Outlook: A trendy breakout receiver in fantasy drafts a year ago, Decker took his game to another level with Peyton Manning at quarterback. Unfortunately the Broncos landed Wes Welker in free agency and he will take receptions away from Decker.
That said, the Broncos are expected to run an offense close to what we saw in New England last year, and that means they will be one of the top teams in offensive snaps per game. If Manning’s arm is better as he claims this off-season, we could expect Manning to throw the football over 40 times a game, and who knows, maybe Decker can have numbers close to what he put up a year ago.
A nice thought, but we shouldn’t draft him at a level that would suggest we expect him to post those numbers. Going as the 25th receiver in recent ADP trends (third Broncos receiver off the board) I think he’s going at fair value as many fantasy owners expect his numbers to drop.
At worst, he should produce as a WR3 and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gives us WR2 numbers most of the season.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projection
Who will benefit the most from Peyton Manning, Eric Decker or Demaryius Thomas? How about both, as I could easily see these receivers holding WR2 value as the season moves along.
Thomas will be the big-play threat, but Decker is the possession receiver and will be moved around playing on the outside and his traditional slot position. While Thomas will have some huge stats lines, I expect Decker to be the more consistent receiver of the two and he’s likely to hold more value in PPR leagues.
Decker’s chances of a Pro Bowl season (whatever that means anymore) were increased this spring as Thomas was nursing another injury, and Decker was getting valuable reps with Manning. When you hear Manning call the third-year pro the, “veteran of the receiving core,” you know he’s viewed in high regard.
Expect Decker to be one of the league leaders in third-down receptions and yards, and he will be the security blanket receiver for Manning.
Sliding down to the 28th receiver off the board in recent ADP trends, if you can snag Decker as a WR3 consider that great value.
