Fantasy Football Outlook: While Austin has been tagged by many fantasy owners as an injury-prone player, he actually started 15 games last year and a full 16 in 2010. It was 2011 that Austin missed six games to hamstring issues and while Austin has suited up for games, he’s had recurring issues with this problem.
Probably in his final season in Dallas, Austin will be the third target in the passing game and the fourth option in the offense when DeMarco Murray is on the field.
It’s possible Austin could emerge for WR2 numbers as teams will likely put double coverage on Bryant throughout the season and Austin should face the No.2 corner from opposing teams. When you consider Austin is the 37th receiver going in mock drafts, it makes for a terrific WR4 and I wouldn’t have a problem if you take him as a WR3 in this situation.
Just keep an eye on his health in training camp and if all is well, we should look to Austin as a top 30 receiver as Dallas is set up to throw the football often with a shaky defense and a questionable running game.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projections
Take what you want from Miles Austin comments about his preparation (missed six games with hammy) last year, but the guy is still the number-one receiver in this offense, until Dez Bryant matures.
With Laurent Robinson gone, Austin should remain as a rock-solid WR2 in fantasy leagues, as the Cowboys are built to throw the football first. At times, they will take advantage of running the football, but both DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones have failed to show consistent success in the red zone, leaving those touchdown opportunities to receivers like Austin.
Lock Austin in for another 1,000-yard season and at least eight touchdowns, as the Cowboys are sure to be in some high-scoring games, in the wild NFC East.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Maybe Miles Austin was too busy with Kim Kardashian this past off-season to prepare himself for a strong follow up year in 2010, or it could be that his star quarterback missed most of the season with an injury. Whatever the problems, Austin wasn’t the same receiver last season, but he was still a solid No.2 option for fantasy football leagues.I believe Austin also suffered from extra attention for the defense as he became the top priority to stop in the Cowboys’ offense and that probably won’t change this season.
Coming into the summer, Austin’s ADP value on Mock Draft Central has him as the 7th receiver going in standard redraft leagues and Dez Bryant is rated as the 20th. Of the two, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bryant has a better statistical season as he should get defenses No.2 corner and single coverage more often than Austin.
If Austin continues to go as a top ten receiver I would pass on him for Bryant later in the draft. It’s not that Austin can’t have a bounce back season, but he’s yet to prove he can dominate as a teams true No.1 option. All that said, if I had to choose which receiver of the two I would want in dynasty leagues, I would take Austin way ahead of Bryant because of Bryant’s character concerns in the long haul.

2010 Preview
Miles Austin broke out week five against the Chiefs and never looked back. Look for Austin to have another fabulous season as he is the clear top receiver in Dallas.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Miles Austin got an opportunity to start against the Chiefs, and he took full advantage of it with a huge game. From that point on Austin showed he was ready to not only start but be the teams top receiver. This made him, a fantasy stud and a Pro Bowl player in 2009.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With hard work, a great attitude and perseverance Austin has made himself into one of the top ten fantasy options for this up coming season. Not only is Austin talented, but he has a great quarterback and a very good team to play on.
My only concerns for Austin are that we’ve only seen him have success for one season and that the team has added more talent in Dez Bryant. With Bryant, Jason Witten, Kevin Ogletree and Roy Williams on the roster Austin could fall victim to Tony Romo spreading the football around more.
Not only that but defenses will make Austin a top priority to stop, and he won’t sneak up on anyone from this day forward. Still, I think Austin will have another productive season for fantasy owners.
