Fantasy Football Outlook: Harvin is a tough nut to crack as I wouldn’t hesitate to list him as a top ten receiver in a given week during the season, yet his track record shows he won’t last a full 16 games.
Judging by ADP trends you will have to draft Harvin as a top ten at his position and I will pass on him at that price. Because of his health problems, and his style of play (physical, won’t avoid contact) I just believe the talent just below him is good enough that I will take someone I feel has a better chance to play a full 16 games.
Again, when healthy, he’s a WR1 that can post big numbers at any point, but the injury problems are worth considering before you select him.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projections
After questionable lack of playing time early on, Percy Harvin finished with a bang. Harvin will always struggle with health problems, but his play making ability and running skills, makes him an interesting WR2 addition.
At this best, Harvin is a player who can lineup all over the field, in the slot, on the outside, in the backfield and you can put him in motion.
If Adrian Peterson should miss the start of the season, Harvin will be the one dynamic weapon in the Vikings offense, that opposing defenses have to be aware of. Look for Harvin to be heavily active in the offense and he could finish the year as one of the top ten scoring receivers.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
With Donovan McNabb under-center and Sidney Rice gone to the Seahwaks, Percy Harvin fantasy value is moving up, from our early summer rankings. Harvin even seems to have found a way to cure his migraine problems (so far anyway) and if that goes away it would be great for his 2011 value as well as his long term dynasty value.
Coming into his third season, Harvin has to be view as a possible breakout player and should be close to a top twenty fantasy option at receiver on draft day. While I believe the projected stats below are fair I wouldn’t be surprised if Harvin manages to out perform those numbers. Look to Harvin as a respectable, late No.2 receiver in ten to twelve team leagues, and if you can acquire him as a No.3 it would be great value.

June 2011 Fantasy Outlook
While Percy Harvin has been a solid receiver for the Vikings it’s hard to make of what his statistical production will be in 2011. With Brett Favre gone and a projected rookie quarterback starting under center in Christian Ponder, Minnesota will ride Adrian Peterson and the running game early and often.
This isn’t good news for Harvin’s chances to build on his numbers from a year ago, especially if Sidney Rice is back with the team for a full season. Coming into the summer, Harvin’s ADP value on Mock Draft Central has him ranked as the 22nd receiver taken in PPR leagues and the 24th receiver in standard redraft leagues.
I would rank Harvin closer to the back end of the top 30 receivers, and it’s clearly because of his quarterback situation and his past concussion problems, more than the talent he has. If I were ranking Harvin on his talent alone, he would clearly be a top twenty receiver to own in fantasy football leagues. Sadly, Harvin will probably go a little too high because of the name he has, rather than the actual production he will actually give you.
2010 Preview
Percy Harvin made a splash in his rookie season. If Brett Favre returns to the team, Harvin should only improve on his successful first year.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: The Minnesota Vikings took much criticism for selecting troubled wide receiver Percy Harvin in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. Harvin had substance abuse issues in his time with Florida and some boards had him projected to fall possibly into the third round of the draft.

Still, Brad Childress really liked this receiver and when the season started, Harvin made Childress look good all yearlong. Outside of troubling migraine problems, Harvin had 60 receptions for 760 yards and six touchdowns in the passing game. He also posted a couple touchdowns on special teams as he was good in that area as well.
To top all that off he even posted 135 yards on the ground as he had a 9.0 yard per carry average on his 15 carries for the season. Beyond those solid numbers, Harvin led all receivers in the NFL will the most broken tackles (Wes Welker was second with 16) on the year with 25.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If you’re in a fantasy football league that gives points for a receivers rushing totals than Harvin has a bump in fantasy value. The Vikings have discussed using Harvin more in the running game and with his success in the past it’s not hard to see why.
Harvin is the teams third receiver on the depth chart but don’t let that fool you as he is a perfect fit in the slot and will be used all the time. As long as Harvin can keep it together off the field and his migraine issue don’t cost him games, then he makes for a terrific flex play option / late No.2 receiver (twelve team leagues) in his second year.
