2013 10-Team Mock Draft Results: 10th Round

While Boldin isn’t the same player we remember back in Arizona, he will likely be the top possession receiver in San Francisco. With Michael Crabtree on the shelf, Boldin has a realistic possibility of posting top 25 numbers at the receiver position, if Colin Kaepernick takes a liking to him.

It’s early, but I expect that to happen as a young quarterback will benefit from having a veteran receiver who knows how to get open and shield defense

91.Russell Wilson, SEA - While it’s disappointing that Percy Harvin could miss the entire 2013 season because of a hip injury, Wilson is still a QB1 option. The Seahawks will remain a run first offense with a terrific defense with Wilson putting this team in a position to win the NFC West because of his play at quarterback.

I’ve seen some rank Wilson as high as the fifth quarterback overall, because of the running depth and defense I’m not going to rank him much higher than the eight quarterback on my draft board. Game scripts and a quality defenses in his division keep Wilson as a low-end QB1 option, but at some point in his career he will be a top five option at his position.

92. Anquan Boldin, SF - Not sure whether Boldin will hold up for an entire year, given the way I believe Colin Kaepernick will lean on him early, but Boldin will be a WR3 to start the season. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if we look through the first six weeks of the season and he’s playing at a low-end WR2 level.

Kaepernick is a young quarterback and still needs to learn how to find his second, third and fourth reads on a play. He will go to the receiver he’s comfortable with, and Boldin will be a terrific possession receiver to target.

93. Stevie Johnson, BUF - Not much of a fan of Johnson this season but he could finish the season well if E.J. Manuel takes a liking to him. Like I mentioned with Boldin above, you need to pay attention to who a young quarterback picks out as his top receiver and Johnson will likely be that option.

To begin the year, consider Johnson a solid backup receiver you can go to whether a starter is injured or on a bye week.

94. Greg Olsen, CAR - The Panthers failed to get anything done in the offseason to improve their No.2 or No.3 receiver situation. That means Olsen and Steve Smith will be active in the offense once again. Look to Olsen as a solid low-end TE1 that is worthy of starting weekly.

95. Tony Romo, DAL - When Romo has an elite No.1 receiver he plays like a top five fantasy option at his position. That was again the case down the stretch of last year, and no one can forget the monster numbers he put up during fantasy Super Bowl weekend against the Saints.

Bryant appears to have matured and is ready to be the super star we hoped he would emerge into when he was drafted back in 2010, so Romo is a worthy low-end QB1 option in 10-team leagues.

96. Broncos Defense, DEN - If Von Miller is out for the first month of the season because of suspension, they will fall out of my top five defenses to draft.

97. Kenny Britt, TEN – If Britt is going to have a big year in the NFL this will be the season. Why, because he’s looking for a new contract. I don’t trust Britt in the long run as he’s had too many injuries and is a concern off the field. As for this season, take him as a WR4 and he could emerge as a valuable starter.

98. Jonathan Stewart, CAR - We need to drop Stewart out of the range and put DeAngelo Williams in his place. Stewart missed time at the end of last season because of lower leg problems and he’s still have issues as camp begins. I don’t trust Stewart and you shouldn’t as well.

He won’t stay healthy and played nothing like the runner we knew in the early portion of his career last season. Stewart’s time as a promising young talent is over, and now he’s nothing but an overpaid player who can’t stay on the field.

99. Jermichael Finley, GB - Finley finished last season strong and is looking for a new contract. That should be enough to look at him as a No.2 tight end for your team. He could go around this point if you like him enough to be your TE1, but make sure you draft someone like Martellus Bennett, Dustin Keller, Dwayne Allen or a host of others as a backup, incase he disappoints early.

100. Josh Gordon, CLE - You will have to wait through a two-game suspension before Gordon is on the field but I don’t mind taking as the 100th player off the board. Gordon is a backup but could emerge as a respectable WR3 in Norv Turner’s offense that will use the play-action off of defenses overcommitting to the running game and Trent Richardson.
