The Freaks Waiver Wire 2013 Week 6

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Nick Foles PHI QB
Michael Vick looks to have tweaked his hamstring and found it hard to keep going in week 5. Foles stepped in to help the Eagles secure a victory over the Giants. In only a partial game, he threw for nearly 200 yards and put 2 scores on the board. Keep an eye on Vick’s status, but if he isn’t able to take the field, then Foles will inherit the talents of Jackson, McCoy, and company.

Willis McGahee CLE RB
Since taking over the Browns backfield, McGahee has seen at least 23 carries each week. Most recently, he saw 26 touches against the Bills and walked away with 72 yards and a score. There isn’t really a threat to his workload to be found and week 6 features a tasty matchup against a Lions team that has ranked in the bottom 10 rush defenses.

Zac Stacy STL RB
The Rams rookie saw his first real action of the season in week 4. He carried the rock 14 times for 78 yards and looked a heck of a lot more effective than the rest of the Rams backfield has this year. He’s worth stashing in the hopes that he can maintain the production and lock in his position as the lead back. In the short term, keep an eye on his injury status. It isn’t yet clear if he suffered some sort of rib injury this week.

Terrance Williams DAL WR
Williams has stepped in to fill the voice left by Miles Austin’s hamstring injury. In week 4 he had 7 catches for 71 yards and this week he more than doubled his production with 4 catches for 151 yards and a TD, plus he added a 2PT conversion catch. As long as Austin sits out, Williams will continue to be pressed into action.

Justin Blackmon JAX WR
Yes, you are right to be wary about any player on the Jaguars, but Blackmon has proven he can have success there. In his first game back from suspension, he caught 5 balls for 136 yards and a score. Apparently, not everyone noticed he was returning to action, because he’s still available in roughly 40% of leagues.

Ted Ginn Jr. CAR WR
He’s had three straight games with at least 62 yards receiving and he’s caught TD passes in two of those efforts. He also works into the return game. While he’s no lock to continue that sort of production, he may offer more upside than somebody else you have at the bottom of your WR rotation.
