The Hazean's 2014 Survival League: Supporting St. Jude's

There are a lot of smart people writing about fantasy football these days.

So much so, that it stopped making sense for me to continue publishing fantasy stories daily here. These guys are much, much smarter than I am. Read their stuff if you want in-depth fantasy knowledge.

What I’m going to continue to do is watch football, play some fantasy, drink, tweet some observations, and, on occasion, publish some thoughts here — fantasy or otherwise.

You’ve likely already noticed our format change since the migration. Some football, some music, some television. Things we like. Things we like to share with you.

Because what is the Internet if not a place where we can impose the things we think are great — or, maybe more importantly, terrible — onto our friends, families, and readers.

That’s pretty much Facebook in a nutshell. But Facebook is terrible — there I go imposing on you again — so you shouldn’t go there for any kind of useful information, anyway.

All of that being said, here is our latest endeavor: Survival Football in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Supporting St. Jude is the most charitable thing I do all year, and probably the most important thing I do all year. We did a similar fundraiser this past spring for March Madness, raising $75 for St. Jude in the process.

That’s a nice start for our fund-raising efforts. Our goal is to raise $500 for St. Jude this year, and we already have raised $125 toward that goal.

We’re going to do the same setup for the 2014 Survival League. $10 entry fee — five goes toward St. Jude, and the other five goes in the pot for the winner(s).
