Earnings Growth Charts
CTIB has been hanging on the list by it’s fingernails for over a year now, putting in a good quarter often enough to stay ahead of the other candidates for deletion. Looking at the annual EPS, it’s pretty clear this one is toast. It’s funny how price has held up relatively well despite the complete collapse in earnings, but that tells a lot about the state of the market for the last year or so.
DSW has had very steady growth in earnings, revenue, and market cap since 2008 (the price chart is linear, so it is not as dramatic as it looks). The rates of growth are not exactly leadership material, but so far this has also avoided the wild swings you often see in high growth stocks. It looks like it might be getting ready to form a base soon: it’s recent history suggests it will be a relatively short and shallow base.
Despite pretty steady earnings growth, RUE has not really gone anywhere. I don;t have much revenue data on this, but I suspect revenue growth is about the same as earnings. I think we will see either a collapse in earnings or a big up trend in price in the next year, but there is no way right now of knowing which.
I still have 6 stocks that have not reported, one of which is coming off the list, one which won’t report until next month, and 4 scheduled for this week. This has been a pretty easy quarter to keep track of: reports were pretty well scattered throughout the quarter and I did not have much trouble keeping up.
