Price Relative Performance

Back in late March I started putting up on Sundays the 25 top stocks that were hitting the non-breakout new highs list in the last 200 days. These are the stocks that were new on the list on the weekend of April 5th (those are the ones I highlight in yellow).  Here is the relative performance for those stocks since then. The results are less impressive than I initially thought they would be: 2 of the 4 have actually underpermed the market slightly. 

This chart shows the performance over time. Since it has been only about a month and a half since April 5th, it is probably too early to draw any real conclusions, and we are also in a time period when the market has been unusually strong.  The one really strong one (EAC) reported earnings during this period, which resulted in a huge gain. The other pretty much performed in lock step with the overall market. So far, the results of this little project have been a disappointment.We might get a better picture after 3 months.
