David Stockman, contributing author to the Daily Reckoning, was featured on Fox Business with Neil Cavuto following the first U.S presidential debate, where he discusses the debate, the economy and themes from his new book Trumped! out now.

Stockman told Cavuto, “This election is a referendum on thirty years of status quo, failed wars, soaring debt and a failing economy…”

David Stockman served as a two-term Republican congressman from Michigan and was also President Reagan’s budget director. Following his time at the White House, Stockman became a managing director on Wall Street. He is now the founder of David Stockman’s Contra Corner and a best selling author.

The best selling author, when speaking on the presidential debate, said, “The U.S economy is in bad trouble. It is not this fantasy land recovery and success story that President Obama talks about, that the Fed wants you to believe and that Wall Street urges you to embrace… That is totally wrong.” He then went on to note that, “People know that the Fed is not working for them. If they are savers, if they are wage earners… The inflation that the Fed thinks we don’t have enough of is hurting them badly.”
