VentriPoint Diagnostics Ltd shares pump up as it updates on VMS Plus progress

Shares in VentriPoint Diagnostics (CVE:VPT) surged 27% as it updated on the progress of its ground-breaking heart diagnostic device VMS Plus, for which it has been recruiting sales and marketing staff.

It is also interviewing potential distributors to assess different markets worldwide, it told investors.

The recent focus has been on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where heart disease is prevalent, and a representative for the firm attended the CSI Dubai 2017 cardiac conference in Dubai in April.

Leading cardiac hospitals in the region have requested presentations to their cardiology groups so Ventripoint will be returning in July for this, as well as to continue discussions with potential distributors and partners.

The company is also interviewing several seasoned marketing people in Canada, Asia Pacific and the USA and commissioned a market survey in Canada  to refine the positioning of the VMS-PLUS prior to formal marketing efforts in September.

The VMS is approved for right ventricle (RV) analysis in the United States, Canada and Europe, while the VMS-PLUS(TM) was recently approved in Canada for the other  three chambers.

“Ventripoint has achieved a ‘world first’ with the approval of a whole-heart analysis system for 2D ultrasound exams, which provides accurate and reliable measurements equivalent to an MRI,” said chief executive George Adams.

 Shares in Toronto gained 27.45% to $0.325.
