Advanced Micro Devices Inc, Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc, Blue Apron and more - AFTER HOURS

The after-hours story in New York came from tech group Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ:AMD), whose shares jumped 8% after the bell as its quarterly numbers breezed through forecasts.

The computer processor group posted higher-than-expected earnings and revenue, and issued strong guidance for its next quarter.

Revenues increased by 19% to $1.22bn, better than the $1.16bn expected by analysts.

Fast-food chain and under pressure Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc (NYSE:CMG)  was back in the news and shares rose over 3.5% after the bell as second quarter results  did give reasons for cheer after a recent norovirus outbreak in a Virginia restaurant.

The company revealed it had more than doubled second-quarter earnings compared to a year ago, bolstered by lower costs and improved profit margin.

Elsewhere, AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) shares added over 2% after the bell as the telecoms firm beat estimates on its second-quarter earnings.

Group revenues were $39.8bn, while operating income came in at $7.3bn. Free cash flow was $3.7bn and the firm maintained its full year guidance.

“Once again our team delivered expanded consolidated margins and, as a result, grew adjusted earnings per share by nearly 10% as we executed well against our business priorities,” said Randall Stephenson, AT&T’s chairman and chief executive.

Shares of newly-floated outfit Blue Apron Holdings Inc (NYSE:APRN) fell more than 2% in after-hours trading after the meal kit delivery company announced the resignation of chief operating officer and co-founder Matthew Wadiak.

 On Monday this week, analysts at Goldman Sachs started coverage on the shares with a ‘buy’ rating and a price target of $11.

RBC Capital Markets and Oppenheimer also started their coverage with ‘outperform’ ratings and price targets of $10 and $11 respectively.
