Red Hat, Facebook, Avanced Micro Devices and more - AFTER HOURS

After Wall Street finished in the red, there were several movers after the bell.

Shares in Red Hat Inc (NYSE:RHT), the software firm, added 4.72% to US$110.70 as it unveiled better-than-expected second quarter results.

Non-GAAP earnings came in at 77 cents a share on revenue of $723mln, up 21% compared to the same time last year, while Wall Street was looking for earnings of 67 cents a share on US$699mln in revenue

Meanwhile, tech giant Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) saw its shares add 0.77% to US$164.13 after a newspaper report said Russian operatives used adverts on Facebook to incite antagonism against blacks and Muslims.

Elsewhere, AMD – Avanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) added 1.5% after hours to US$12.80. It came after earlier in the day shares eased as its rival computer chip maker Intel Corp (NASDAQ:INTC) unveiled its latest Core desktop processors.

Intel shared added 0.30% to US$37.27 after the bell.

Finally, engineer Leggett & Platt Inc (NYSEL: LEG) shares plunged over 4% after the bell.
