Euro continues to lose value – 1.30 on the horizon this month?

Euro levels have been dropping across the board so far this year as speculation continues to build that the European Central Bank will start a program of QE to fight deflation. There has also been building concerns about the |Greek election taking place on the same week as there is the potential for Greece to leave the EU if the ‘wild party’ comes into power. This has weakened the euro against most currencies reaching new lows; 6 year low against the greenback and a 3 year low against the Pound.  This is something that I think will be the trend going forward for the remainder of the year so anyone with euros to sell should really be worried, there is certainly a lot more risk that potential opportunity for euro sellers. Anyone buying the single currency however is on the other foot and should have a smile on their face.  Levels are great at the moment and the decision will be trying the guess whether markets will go higher or whether these bets have now been priced into the market already.
