This weeks important data releases for the Pound (Dayle Littlejohn)
Tomorrow the UK is set to release the latest set of Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers. CPI also known as inflation, has been a concern for the Bank of England for many months.
Governor of the Bank of the England Mark Carney, has indicated that inflation would have to rise in order for interest rates to be hiked.
Therefore tomorrows figure could influence the strength of the pound for the foreseeable future. For clients buying a foreign currency this week, this is a data release not to be missed.
Later in the week (Wednesday morning), UK unemployment is to be released. Unemployment has been on a downward trend since the start of 2015 and has dropped by 0.5% which shows growth within the UK and is positive news for the pound.
