Black Friday and Exchange Rates (Tom Holian)

Today may be Black Friday for the UK and with many products being offered at discount prices we expect a big day for UK Retail Sales with £1 billion spent in the high street and another £1 billion online.

Unfortunately however the term Black Friday does not exist for exchanging currency but using a specialist currency broker means we are able to offer you better deals than your bank on a daily basis.

Today we see the release of UK GDP figures for the third quarter.

The data is the second revision and with the UK having been growing relatively well recently any positive upgrade could send Sterling Euro exchange rates in an upwards direction.

The big risk for next week comes in the form of the European economic data.

First we see the release of Eurozone unemployment data on Tuesday closely followed by the Consumer Price Index on Wednesday morning.

With low inflation a big risk to growth for Europe any signs of the inflation rate still struggling could tempt the ECB into further Quantitative Easing at next Thursday’s monetary policy meeting.
