Sterling Euro exchange rates pressing the 1.20 mark (Daniel Wright)

We have seen a positive week for the Pound against the Euro and personally I would not be surprised to see this trend continue.

With the first round of French elections due to take place on the weekend and Marine Le Pen looking fairly likely to progress to phase two, we may see the Euro exchange rate weaken off a little further as uncertainty starts to creep in and political tensions rise.

It has been said that a Le Pen victory may even see the Euro move as much as Sterling did straight after the referendum on brexit, which would mean that those needing to buy Euros in the coming days, weeks or months may see a fantastic opportunity coming up.

Anyone with Euros to sell may wish to take note here as this is a potential problem and may lead to you receiving a lot less for your money should you decide to hold on.

On the flip side, should Le Pen fail to get through phase 1 (Which is doubtful) then the Euro may make significant gains against all currencies and the current opportunities we are seeing may slip away.

As mentioned I feel that Euro weakness is more likely.
