Will the Pound fall further against the Euro next week? (Tom Holian)

The Pound has continued its recent poor run against the Euro on Friday following the release of lower than expected UK production data.

Official figures have shown that this is the second quarter in a row that the data has fallen and we are starting to fall behind the US, France and Germany.

The Brexit term has often thrown up negative connotations for the British economy and the warnings from a year ago are appearing to come true and this is starting to reflect once again in the value of the Pound.

The British political landscape is also very uncertain at the moment with rumours of a potential leadership challenge to the current Prime Minister Theresa May.

When there is political uncertainty this often leads to weakening in the value of the affected currency and at this moment this is clearly causing Sterling to suffer against the single currency.

With inflation rising in the UK there is a chance that the Bank of England may raise interest rates when the next meeting takes place on November 2nd.

However, as average earnings are not keeping up with the inflation rates I don’t think we’ll see any change in November as it could have a negative effect on economic growth.
