Halloween Facts, Halloween Traditions

The Origin of Halloween

Halloween’s roots can be traced back to Celtic culture in Ireland. According to their “Druid” religion, November 1st was New Years’ on their calendar. The celebration would begin on October 31st ,and last into the following day. The spirits of all who died in the prior year, would rise up and roam the earth on this night.

This is an evil night when spirits roamed the streets and villages. Lord Samhain, the lord of Darkness, would arrive in search of the spirits to take them to the underworld.

Halloween as it is currently celebrated with costumes, trick or treat, and superstitions, takes from this Druid Holiday.

All Hallows Eve
Halloween was commonly referred to as “All Hollows” Eve. It originated from the pagan holiday honoring the dead. The Roman Catholic Church created All Saints Day (also called Hallomas) on November 1st to honor Saints and All Souls Day on November 2and to honor and pray for the souls of the dead. These holidays were created by the church, in part to downplay the pagan holidays. Needless to say, it did not succeed. Halloween as we know it today, has grown from the ancient Druid Holiday. Along the way both fun, frights, and Satanic twists have been added to the mix.

A Really Big Show
Halloween is second only to Christmas in spending. Consumers spend over $2.5 Billion during Halloween. That’s a whole lot of candy, costumes, decorations, and party goods.

Like Christmas, Halloween is steeped in traditions. While Christmas can be a stressful period, Halloween is all about fun. People really get into the Halloween tradition and “spirit”. Some religions are against celebrating Halloween, citing it’s roots in ancient Druid religion. While this is true, Today’s Halloween celebrations are all about fun, with a generous amount of imagination.

I sought this article out specifically. Its always fun and very interesting to see where our traditions come from, how they were started. It also gives some perspective on just how popular Halloween really is, which shouldn’t be too surprising to anyone!

That’s partially correct. It is not just an Irish Celtic thing but shared throughout northern European countries and Siberia. It is animistic in origin so based on observation. Very ancient, so nothing to do with the Druids who turned up just before Christianity and lasted a very short space of time.

It is the animistic New Year, but nothing to do with spirits who died that year roaming earth. It is a celebration of thanks to ALL ancestors, it is why it’s otherwise called ALL HALLOWS EVE. It is a festival to celebrate all your ancestors right back to when we were nothing but pond scum. Because if a single one of them had failed to reproduce, we wouldn’t be here.

It has nothing to do with the Christian American treatment of it, an absolute insult of a giant kiddies street party wearing goulish fancy dress, trick or treat.

“When we were nothing but pond scum?” So sorry to hear that Mr. Pix and his ancestors evolved from pond scum. As for the rest of mankind, they were created by God.

Who says the Church feasts of All Saints and All Souls did not succeed? Of course they did. And as far as Halloween goes, the vast majority of kids use it as a fun way to collect candy from their neighbors. It’s more a sweet tooth celebration than a celebration of evil.

St. Patrick converted the Druid tribes to Christianity and helped establish a centuries long line of splendid Christian kings throughout the Misty Isles. A number of these kings have even been canonized. How many US presidents have been canonized? The answer is none.

      What a dopey article.

No one said it is not successful, the church holy days are the ancient satanic holy days, they didn’t ever cease. and just because you say ” and as far as Halloween goes, the vast majority of kids use it as a fun way to collect candy from their neighbors.. its more a seet tooth celebration than a celebration of evil’ doesn’t mean you are correct, cause you are not.

You can say swrong stuff all day and all night and all thru your life, but that never changes the truth, does it. So what do you gain by repeated lies?

News Flash: Patrick your hero and saint knew celts who were already Christian. (see their crosses before his time). The celts believed in the mystery religion triune Godhead, the trinity. So Patrick was redundant wasn’t he? Who cares what Kings were canonized. Who canonized them? What authority? Why should they have been an authority? Who said?
The Catholic church is an institution of vileness and filth. Her daughters the protestants did not protest enough, so are also harlots. But Catholic Church Mother is the Total, Complete Harlot of Babylon Mystery religion, always has been the descendant of the Mysteries of Babylon and Egypt, and she will never change her stripes. She remains corrupt, as the daily rapes of boys and other cruelties continues under her skirts. Can you see how demonic this church and religion is? Really, are you not ashamed of it? How can you say these things?
