Samsung Unveils a Sure Fire iPhone Killer with the Samsung Galaxy S4

Whether you’re an Android-bot, an iSheep or even a Windrone, you’re still probably excited to see what Samsung has in store for all of us gadget geeks this coming April. Just a few days ago, the Korean electronics giant surprised a huge gathering of people in New York with a brand new Samsung Galaxy smartphone that is thinner, lighter and internally heavier. It’s the Samsung Galaxy S4! And yes, we definitely think it can beat the iPhone 5 any day and I’m even willing to sell my iPhone. But how about the much rumored iPhone 5S?

Meatier Tech Specs

Although it’s too early in the game to say that the iPhone 5S will not be as good as the Samsung Galaxy S4 when it gets released this year, it’s enough to say that the Galaxy S4’s meaty tech specs are showing great strength and Apple will find hard to compete with them. For instance, the Galaxy S4 is a lean mean computing machine with a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor (which is perceived to be targeted towards the U.S. market) and a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor (which is reported to be targeted towards overseas markets). It also has 2 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of memory (as the device is available in 16, 32 and 64 GB and is also expandable to up to 64 GB using a microSD). It runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and is compacted in a 5.38 x 2.75 x 0.31 inch body at only 0.29 lbs.

All these meaty tech specs are far ahead of the iPhone 5 which only has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 64 GB of maximum memory storage and which runs on a very problematic iOS 6. However, the iPhone 5 is way smaller and better in terms of form factor than the Galaxy S4’s body at 4.87 x 2.31 x 0.30 inches and 0.25 lbs. So far, nothing much has been reported about the iPhone 5S’s possible specs although we are guessing it’ll be an A6X or an A7 processor. And even if Apple opts for a quad-core ARM Cortex-15 processor, the Samsung Galaxy S4’s brawny specs are still better on paper.

Beefy Camera Specs and Features

When it comes to photography, most smartphone users opt for the iPhone 5 because of its photo quality and the abundance of photo editing apps available in the App Store. But while I would be a little hesitant to sell my iPhone 5 right now (because, well, it’s been with me for less than six months), I’d gladly take the Samsung Galaxy S4’s camera any day. It’s got a whopping 13 MP rear camera that makes anyone taking a picture feel like they’re holding a point and shoot camera. It also has a 2 MP front camera which, compared to the iPhone 5’s 8 MP rear and 1.2 MP front, is still a better choice by far. There have been rumors that Apple is also planning on putting in a 13 MP camera on the iPhone 5S, but it’s still too early to tell if this is even possible.

In terms of smartphone features, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has got me very excited because of its newly developed functions such as Air Gesture and Air View (a feature that allows you to control your smartphone without touching the screen using hand gestures) as well as the Samsung Smart Scroll and Samsung Smart Pause (which lets you scroll up and down your smartphone by tilting and staring at the screen). So far, the only new feature we’re hearing about for the iPhone 5S is a Siri update, an iOS update and possible NFC and wireless charging capabilities.
