Micromax Yu Yureka to go on sale on Amazon at 2 PM tomorrow
The latest device from Micromax subsidiary Yu has been one of the hottest topics to be talked about in the budget smartphone market in India. The Yu Yureka has got some pretty decent specs but when you consider the price of the device then these specs turns out to be the best you can get. Yu Yureka will be put on sale on the e-commerce firm Amazon. The device was unveiled last month and it gathered a lot of attention, not just from within the country but overseas as well. The sale of the Yu Yureka will begin at 1400 hrs tomorrow. Only those who have registered themselves for the sale will be able to participate in it. The registration began a few days later when the device was unveiled and was closed a while later. As this is the first sale for the Yu Yureka the company has made available only 10,000 units.
Micromax Yu Yureka possesses some decent specs. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor. It gets 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. There is a slot for a micro SD Card which supports cards up to 32 GB. It gets a 5.5 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The main camera on the device is a 13MP shooter with a LED Flash and auto focus while the front facing camera is a 5MP shooter. Micromax Yu Yureka also supports LTE connectivity which is a surprise for a device which is priced at Rs 8,999/- only. The battery on this device is a 2500 mAh unit which doesn’t sound much but considering the resolution of the screen it would be able to give a decent battery life. The main feature of the Yu Yureka is its software. It currently runs of Cyanogen 11 which is the highest customizable ROM in the Android world. This OS is running on Android 4.4.4 kitkat. Cyanogen offers a wide range of customizations right after you switch on the device. There are many features which would normally be available after rooting a device.
Commenting on the sale of the Yu Yureka Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said that they saw unprecedented response with over three lakh registrations. Registrations were to be open till 25th December. However, owing to the mega response they had to be closed a day earlier. The registrations were within India, but the launch has elicited interest from overseas markets as well. The company is working to increase its capacity. Given the kind of enthusiasm that they have seen, they will increase the number of units put out for sale gradually.
