Second lot of Yureka sold out in 4 seconds, price glitch happened again

Micromax Yu Yureka, the budget smartphone which has stirred the market with its specs, price and software, had its second flash sale today on 23 Jan. The flash sale followed the same procedure as the last time but there were 15,000 units of the Yureka up this time. The sale began at 2pm on the e-commerce website Amazon India. Micromax says that all the 15,000 units were sold in just 4 seconds.

Last time, during the first flash sale of the Yureka, thousands of interested buyers registered themselves on Amazon India to participate in it. However, as there were only 10,000 units available only a few could get their hands on the device. Similarly, this time the number of registered buyers was far more than the available devices. Last time the rush was so immense that Amazon’s website couldn’t take up the beating and ended up crashing. But, thankfully, this time Amazon was well prepared to handle the large amount of traffic during the sale.

Micromax Yu Yureka has been in controversies since its day one. Even now its future is floating around. There were few stories which claimed that instead of 15,000 units there were only 3,000 units up for sale and Micromax is doing all this as a publicity stunt. Micromax completely denies this fact and sticks to what it had said.

There were reports during the first flash sale that Amazon India charged up more than the price of the Yureka. It’s clearly mentioned that the device is priced at Rs 8,999 only but some customers ended up paying Rs 12,500 for the handset. Amazon did acknowledge this fact and has returned the extra amount to the customers as coupons. The same glitch was there in today’s sale as well. While checking out the price mentioned for the Yu Yureka was Rs 12,500 instead of Rs 8,999. Well, whether it was really a genuine glitch or something else is cooking up at Amazon, we don’t know.

Micromax Yu Yureka has become one of the trending topics because of its value for money. It sports a 5.5 inch IPS display with a resolution of 720p. It is protected by the Gorilla Glass Corning 3. It also gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with a 1.5 GHz Octa-core 64 bit CPU. The GPU on this device is the Adreno 405 which is capable to handle most of the heavy games easily. It packs 2 GB of DDR3 RAM to take care of the multi tasking. Then there is the on board storage of 16 GB which can be expanded with an external micro SD card slot up to 32 GB. The Yu Yureka is also LTE enabled which makes it a future proof device at the cheapest price. And the best feature of the device is its software. Running on Cyanogen 11S on top of Android KitKat, the Yu Yureka offers a great user experience.
