AT&T Unveils Rugged Smartphone Samsung Galaxy S6 Active with QHD Display
After many rumors and leaks, the rugged version of Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S6 has finally been unveiled on AT&T in US. In a press release, the company said, “For the third summer in a row, AT&T is bringing its customers the toughest and most advanced member of the Galaxy S family,” With its strong build quality, the newly launched device adds the touch of rugged finish to the phenomenal efficiency of the Samsung Galaxy S6.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will roll out from 12th of June via offline Samsung retail stores and AT&T website. The price of this handset has not been revealed, but still, instalment details for buying through AT&T Next have been highlighted as, $23.17 for each month with 30 payments on Next 24, $28.96 for each month at 24 payments on Next 18, and $34.75 per month at 20 payments on Next 12. It will also hit the shelves at upcoming Reebok Spartan race events, but its global release is still not confirmed.
On the specifications front, Galaxy S6 Active offers the same package like the Galaxy S6. The device flaunts a great look, and features Quad HD super AMOLED display of 5.1-inches. It runs Android 5.0.2 out-of-the box, and has been powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 processor built on 64-bit architecture and 3GB of RAM. Much like Galaxy S6, the rear and front-facing camera of Galaxy S6 Active features a 16 and 5 megapixel sensor packing a rich set of camera features such as, quick launch, auto real-time HDR, tracking AF, low light video, virtual shot, fast motion, and selective focus f/1.9. Inbuilt storage onboard is also the same 32GB.
In addition to high-end specs, Galaxy S6 Active features all essential characteristics of a perfect rugged smartphone. With IP68 certification, it offers water resistance, shock resistance, and dust proofing capabilities. And, by complying with US Mil-STD-810G standards, it offers maximum strength for dealing with extreme temperatures, humidity, vibration, and high altitudes. The device does not packs a finger print sensor, and has three physical buttons for home, back, and multi-tasking.
The overall performance of Galaxy S6 Active is backed by a fast charging battery of 3500mAh supporting wireless charging. With compass, flashlight, torch, and many more features, it offers a perfect smartphone experience with enhanced level of durability.
