Xiaomi Set To Unveil MIUI 7 ROM on August 13
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi looks finally set to unveil the next iteration of its custom ROM, MIUI 7. The leading smartphone maker has scheduled an event in China, is likely to unveil its latest flagship smartphone with a better, cleaner, and more generic MIUI 7. Till date, the company has launched different versions of MIUI ROM, starting from MIUI 5 in Mi3 and Redmi 1s to the improved MIUI 6 in Mi4 and Mi4i.
Highlighting about August 13 launch event, an administrator on MIUI forum confirmed the fact that Xiaomi will be launching a new product with the latest version of MIUI ROM, MIUI 7 based Android Lollipop 5.1.1. The event has been scheduled at China National Convention Centre, and will certainly bring one of the biggest gifts for Mi customers all across the globe.
The invite sent out by Xiaomi doesn’t gives a clue about its next smartphone, but the teaser from forum certainly takes us the point where we can see the successor of Mi4 coming real soon. In fact last year, Xiaomi unveiled its flagship smartphone alongside the upgraded MIUI 6. The company can do the same this year, and launch its flagship for 2015 with MIUI 7 ROM.
Till date, several leaks and rumors have been surfaced for Xiaomi’s next flagship. The complete package of specs with images have been leaked, and even the price of the upcoming device has also been tipped to fall anywhere around Rs. 25,000. No doubt, it’s the most anticipated smartphone of 2015. As of now, the leaks have suggested the device to show up with a 5.2-inch Quad-HD screen, protected by Gorilla Glass 4, and powered by the latest Snapdragon 810 chipset. The RAM packed with this device hasn’t been confirmed, but camera setup is speculated to feature a 16-megapixel sensor on the rear and 13-megapixel sensor on the front. It will be running the latest iteration of Android with MIUI 7 skin on the top, and is also said to feature an inbuilt fingerprint sensor for added biometric security. The fingerprint technology packed with this phone is expected to take on powerful devices like OnePlus 2, iPhone 6, and Samsung S6 rolling in the market.
