LeTV Set To Launch Its First Smartphone In India

After Xiaomi, Lenovo, and Meizu, another Chinese tech giant is stepping foot in the Indian smartphone market. The famous internet company LeTV has started sending out media invites for a launch event scheduled on January 5^th.

Over a course of more than 10 years, LeTV has grown into one of the biggest tech conglomerates in the world. The company offers a bunch of services that includes live streaming, e-commerce, cloud, Smart TVs, and has recently entered the smartphone segment, with its brilliantly crafted big-screened beauties- the Le1, Le Max, and Le 1 Pro. The most recent addition into company’s smartphone line-up is the budget focused Le 1s, which flaunts a stunning set of features and sits perfectly as one of the first smartphones to bear the amazing mirror-surfaced fingerprint scanning technology.

At the upcoming launch event in India, LeTV could launch any of the above four smartphones. However, recent rumours and media reports have also claimed that the company was testing a tweaked version of its superphone for Indian buyers.

The launch of LeTV’s Superphone will make the smartphone war bigger than ever. There are already many Chinese players in the budget segment, and with LeTV’s debut, the game will become tougher than ever. Currently, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Lenovo, Coolpad and Meizu are operating as the most favoured Chinese smartphone manufacturers in the Indian market.

To recall, the Le 1s and Le Max both feature an impeccable set of hardware and software specs. Both phones incorporate company’s LeTouch fingerprint scanner, which is touted to be one of the finest fingerprint scanners with 99.3% accuracy and recognition within 0.15 seconds. The Le 1s flaunts a metal clad body and sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, while Le Max also features an all metal body, but with a bigger 6.33-inch Quad-HD display.

Under the hood, both phones pack enormous power with the Le 1S powering up with MediaTek Helio X10 SoC and 3GB RAM, and the Le Max powering up with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC paired with 4GB of DDR4 RAM. Both phones come with camera capabilities and battery backup, and are priced fairly at CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs. 11,500) and CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 30,500).

As of now, there is no official word which one it will be, but the introduction of a new powerful player will certainly push Lenovo, OnePlus and Xiaomi off the edge!
