Samsung has finally introduced the latest member of its Galaxy A family, the A9, in the Chinese market. Despite the fact this is the first iteration of the Samsung Galaxy A9, Samsung has listed this phone as Galaxy A9 (2016) on its official china website. The metal-clad phone features a nice look and feel, and continues the Samsung’s legacy of premium metal finish phones!

As for specs, the Samsung Galaxy A9 sits perfectly as the most powerful member of the A series. The device stands out against likes of Galaxy A5, A7, and A8, and sports a beautifully crafted 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass and an impressive 367 pixels per inch. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the box, and flaunts a beautiful combination of metal and glass as seen on most premium handsets including the Galaxy Note 5, S6, and many others. The look of the handset is further improved with a sleek bezel size of 2.4mm.

The innards of Samsung Galaxy A9 are also fairly improved. The latest beauty from the company powers up by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 510. It packs enough power for work and play and boasts an ideal ecosystem for photography with its 13-megapixel main shooter with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, and OIS, and an 8-megapixel front camera with different selfie modes. The built-in storage packed with this handset is 32GB, and is also expandable up to a whopping 128 gigs via microSD card.

Unlike other phones, the Samsung Galaxy A9 incorporates separate slots for microSD card and SIM cards. It features standard connectivity options such as, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3G HSPA+, NFC, 4G LTE, and bears a fingerprint scanner on the home-button for adding benefits of biometric security. There is no USB Type-C standard, but on whole, the entire package with fingerprint scanning looks pretty impressive.
