Iran has military options unknown to the West, Iran’s defense minister said on Tuesday, saying the US fears a frontal show-down with his country.
Speaking to the Iranian Fars news agency, Ahmad Vahidi said his country has secret capabilities, which are being saved for “a rainy day.”
Addressing the tension between Iran and the US, Vahidi said the Americans feared a confrontation, since they won’t be able to stand up to Iran’s firm positions in such conflicts.
Tensions between Iran and the US have been high in recent months, as Washington leads the international community’s efforts to contain Iran’s nuclear program. The US, EU and other countries have implemented economic sanctions in an attempt to stop the Iranian program, while Iranian officials have threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz and halt the flow of oil.
