Egypt’s Military overthrown president Morsi, Egyptian state media reports. The military deployed troops and tanks in Cairo and other main cities of Egypt on Wednesday. “The military are not just deploying in Cairo” Al Ahram Arabic reports 20 armoured vehicles and solider carriers have been deployed in the vicinity of a local mosque in Suez where Morsi’s supporters are rallying. A number of military helicopters are hovering over the city and the Suez Canal.

Al Jazeera qouted Abdul Fatah Khalil al-Sisi, the head of Egyptian Armed Forces saying Morsi has been overthrown.

CAIRO — Mohammed Morsi, in office only a year as the first democratically elected leader of Egypt, was rousted from power by the military Wednesday as a euphoric crowd in Tahrir Square cheered his exit. The commanding general of the armed forces said on Egyptian television that the constitution was suspended and that the head of the constitutional court would be the acting president.
