Of all the various interpretations Western leaders and commentators have offered for why the president of the Russian Federation has responded the way he has to the events in Ukraine over the course of February and March of 2014—in refusing to acquiesce to the installation of a neo-fascist regime in Kiev, and in upholding the right of Crimea to self-determination—the most striking and illuminating interpretation is that he has gone mad. Striking and illuminating, that is, something in the West itself.

This article exemplifies the liberal humanist “illuminated” way of thinking. It is a well thought out and well written “human” expose’. The world is an evil place, really. Makes no difference who’s car you’re riding in as far as the “human” race is concerned. Those professing that humanity should be the “highest authority” in determining what is right and what is wrong, that humanity should have the right to “self-determination”, to be able to live their lives in any way they desire, to participate in any type of “lifestyle”, to pursue their “passions”, to do “questionable things”, appear to lack a “righteous” sense. Any attempt to try to appeal to their conscience is met with hostility and hatred for that which is “righteous”, and they have even made their own laws to make it appear that those who do this are the “haters”. Its almost as though they have been “given over” to their darkened senseless unrighteous way of thinking. Fact is, as it is written, this is exactly what GOD said would be done to them for their “rebellion”.
