Trump had been hounding Obama and Clinton to call the shooting spree at the gay night club what it is – ‘radical Islamic terrorism’

Under pressure from Donald Trump to connect the Orlando massacre with the attacker’s religion, Hillary Clinton broke with President Barack Obama today and defined the assault as ‘radical Islamism.’

Trump had been hounding Obama and Clinton to call the shooting spree at the gay night club early Sunday morning what it is – ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ This morning, on Today, Clinton gave him what he wants and said, ‘To me radical jihadism, radical Islamism, I think they mean the same thing. I’m happy to say either, but that’s not the point.

Hillary finally forced to use the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism’:

‘All this talk and demagoguery and rhetoric is not going to solve solve the problem,’ the Democratic presidential candidate said. ‘I’m not going to demonize and demagogue and declare war on an entire religion. That’s just plain dangerous and it plays into ISIS’ hands.’

Trump tried to go after Clinton again on CNN this morning but was stopped in his tracks by the hosts of New Day. They informed him that Clinton had used the verbiage he demanded just this morning, including on their program.

The Republican Oval Office candidate didn’t have a response to Clinton then. Two hours went by before he said on Twitter: ‘I have been hitting Obama and Crooked Hillary hard on not using the term Radical Islamic Terror. Hillary just broke-said she would now use!’

Later in the day, during a speech in Manchester, New Hampshire, Trump fully ripped into Clinton, saying, according to his prepared remarks, ‘Hillary Clinton – for months and despite so many attacks – repeatedly refused to even say the words “radical Islam,” until I challenged her yesterday to say the words or leave the race.

‘Clinton – who has been forced to say the words today after policies she supports have caused us so much damage – still has no clue what Radical Islam is, and won’t speak honestly about what it is,’ he went on to say. ‘She is in total denial, and her continuing reluctance to ever name the enemy broadcasts weakness across the world.’

Trump then threw Clinton’s words from 2015 back in her face, when she was asked about radical Islamism then.

‘Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people, and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism,’ she said in a November speech. Yesterday, in a statement from from the White House press briefing room, Obama said, ‘This was an act of terror and an act of hate.’

As he has long refused to do for the reasons Clinton stated today, Obama would not hinge the terrible act on the shooter’s Islamic faith.

Clinton later repeated what Obama had said in a written statement. ‘This was an act of terror,’ she said. ‘This was also an act of hate. The gunman attacked an LGBT nightclub during Pride Month.’ She said that ‘hate has absolutely no place in America’ and reiterated her support for stricter gun control measures but did not mention Islamism in any form. source
