God Has Recorded Historical Events in the Bible That Will Also Have a Future Prophetic Fulfillment

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Let’s take a look at biblical events that were fulfilled in history, but that also point prophetically to events that will be fulfilled in the very near future.

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?” Amos 3:7,8 (KJV)

My King James Bible is an amazing book. It is not a science book, but revealed many scientific truths before science ever thought of them. It is not a history book, but contains the true history of how we got here. What is the Bible? The Bible is, from cover to cover, the revelation of God’s Son Jesus Christ and the coming Kingdom that has been prepared for Him to receive. The Second Coming is by far the greatest and most-discussed event in the entire book. Mixed in with historical accounts of actual events, God has placed prophecy that will have its fulfillment at a point that. as of this writing, is yet in the future.

All through the Bible, in book after book, there is a Day and an event that happens on that Day so important that it is referred to as “in that day”112 times. The prophet Zechariah mentions the phrase 20 times, and is one of the most descriptive and informative books in the Bible on the Second Coming.

Christians look at Jesus on the cross, and His rising from the dead 3 days later, as the greatest event because that is where we “get in”. But look at it from God’s perspective, it was the day His only begotten Son was executed between common criminals. Why would that be God’s favorite day? But at the Second Coming, God’s Son will receive the Kingdom He rightly deserves, and will reign from Jerusalem as the King over the whole world. That’s The Day that interests God the most.

So just for fun, let’s take a look at biblical events that were fulfilled in history, but that also point prophetically to events that will be fulfilled in the very near future. This is something that the Lord showed me a little bit at a time, until after awhile, I could see them popping in dozens if not hundreds of places in scripture.

THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE:

We first see the phrase the ‘time of Jacob’s trouble in the book of Jeremiah. “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:7 (KJV). Now the nation of Israel was absolutely in trouble, historically this refers to the Babylonian captivity of the Jews, which happened in the past. But God has woven prophecy here as well, verse 3 in the same chapter provides a huge clue. “For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.” Look at that, God prophesying that He will regather His people. God did regather them after Babylon, but then He also scattered them again at the hands of the Roman army in 70 AD. So that makes the promise to regather an open promise from that point on. History records that the Jews were regathered officially on May 14, 1948, back in their land of Israel. But the Bible says that the Jews will again be scattered in the time of Antichrist, and it will be then that the prophecy of the ‘time of Jacob’s trouble’ will have its complete fulfillment.

I have alway found it interesting that Jesus in Matthew 24 tells us to go visit the prophet Daniel’s writings for ‘inside information’ of the coming time of ‘great tribulation’. “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” Matthew 24:15 (KJV). That brings you to this verse: “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:27 (KJV). But when you go to the top of chapter 9, that’s where you see that Daniel was reading Jeremiah when the Holy Spirit opened his eyes to future end times events. “In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.” Daniel 9:2 (KJV). Following Daniel’s path back to Jeremiah leads you here: “For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.” Jeremiah 29:10 (KJV). And there you have it, an unbroken chain from Jeremiah, to Daniel, to Jesus Christ who all discuss historical events that have tremendous prophetic future fulfillment.

THE PRETRIBULATION RAPTURE IN THE SONG OF SOLOMON:

In Jewish tradition, the Song of Solomon was a book that because of its graphic content, was not deemed suitable for a Jew under the age of 30 to read. Many scholars, both Jew and Gentile, will write endlessly on the ‘sexual themes’ contained in Solomon’s writings. But God has placed within that framework some amazing future prophecy of the Rapture of the Church. “The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.” Song Of Solomon 2:8-10 (KJV). Compare that with Revelation chapter 4 to see an astonishing parallel. “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” Revelation 4:1 (KJV)

JOSEPH AS A TYPE OF JESUS CHRIST AT HIS FIRST COMING:

Joseph was one of the sons of Jacob, and we all know the story of how he was mistreated by his brothers and how God used him mightily in Egypt to save his family. As you can see, this example is already explaining itself. But historical Joseph dealing with the historical famine and living in historical Egypt is chock-full of Bible prophecy of events that were well in the future at the time of Genesis. You see, God used the life and trials of Joseph to prophecy about the earthly live, ministry and mistreatment that His Son Jesus would receive at His First Coming. Here are just a few examples:

Joseph & Jesus were first born sons, and they both were shepherds. The brothers of both men were crazy jealous of them and didn’t believe their words. Joseph was sent by his father to his brothers, Jesus was sent by His Father to His brethren the Jews. Both were sent to Egypt, both were made servants, and both were falsely accused. In Egypt, all knees bowed to Joseph, at the Great White Throne Judgment all knees will bow to King Jesus. Both Joseph and Jesus were given a gentile bride. Joseph in Egypt endured 7 years of physical famine, the Jews in Jacob’s trouble will endure 7 years of spiritual famine. Joseph was a saviour to his brothers, Jesus will be the Saviour to His brethren the Jews at the Second Coming. In short, nearly the entire adult life of Joseph prophetically prefigures the adult life and ministry of Jesus.

THE BATTLE FOR CONTROL OF GOD’S CITY, JERUSALEM:

All through the Old Testament, the city of Jerusalem is fought over. The prophet Zechariah has much to say about the battles for Jerusalem that waged in his day. But woven into those historical accounts are events that can only be realized in future prophetic fulfillments, like this verse here. “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” Zechariah 14:2 (KJV). Never in world history have all nations come to battle against Jerusalem. The wars mentioned historically in Zechariah were regional to the Middle East. But when you read the verse that comes before this one, Zechariah tells us exactly when this battle for Jerusalem will take place.  “Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.” Since the Day of the Lord is, obviously, yet still future, we know that Zechariah’s prophecies are also for yet a future time and could not have been fulfilled at any point in the past. To further prove that point, try matching Zechariah 14 with Matthew 24, and you will see clearly  it is future prophecy. In fact Zechariah 10-14 matches exactly with the events listed in Revelation 1, 19 and 20. Here’s a tantalizing sample of what you will find when you go looking:

“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” Zechariah 12:10 (KJV)

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” Revelation 1:7 (KJV)

As you can now see, hopefully clearly, God has indeed woven amazing yet-to-be-fulfilled prophecy into the historical events surrounding Israel and other nations as recorded in the Bible. By believing what we read, in the context in which we read it, and then comparing scripture with scripture these prophecies come flying to the surface time after time. I can still remember my pleasant “shock and surprise” the day the Holy Spirit had me compare Revelation 6 with Matthew 24, it blew me away! There they were, all 6 Seals present in Matthew 24, and I had never recognized that before. How many more like there are there? Dozens more, hundreds more, so many more we will never have the time to find them all but they’re there.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

You don’t need to be a scholar to mine the depths of the Bible, you just need to follow Paul’s instructions to roll up your sleeves and study the Book like a workman. You need to be someone who believes the Bible, and not someone who spends all their time attempting to correct it.

123’s of true Christianity v popular & damnable heresies

      #1 “ANOTHER JESUS”:
-“ONE” not triune: Mark 12:28…Which is the first commandment of all? 29. …Hear, O Israel; THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD: 30. And ………..this is the first commandment….. 31. And the second is….. IF YOU CAN’T GET THIS “FIRST OF ALL COMMANDMENTS” RIGHT, ALL THE REST OF YOUR “FAITH” AND PREACHING ON LOVE & SIN IS MOOT….. (NOTE: And yes, the specific Greek and Hebrew words used also and only define one person contrary to the ridiculous obfuscation attempts of some!?!)
PART 4 & 5 HOW MANY GODS ARE THERE FOR THE ONE GOD TO TALK TO?? Who was Jesus praying to??!?…. The real question should be … How does having multiple different persons keep this one God/being/entity from praying to himself?! (The trinitarian “schizophrenic” “god-head”) The Trinitarians want to have their cake and eat it too as the saying goes. On the one hand they need to say they only worship one indivisible God being/ entity but on the other hand they feel the need for some reason to keep Jesus or God from praying and talking to himself by dividing him up into different persons!?! It never occurs to them that that since there is only one indivisible God to pray too and Jesus is that indivisible God come in the flesh that he would need to talk to himself as to show us how to live, suffer, pray and die for our/ flesh) benefit not his!?!….. So while Trinitarians are quick to complain that God was not talking to himself at Christ baptism or in Gen “let us” they ignore the logical demands of their own theology! If Jesus is the ONE GOD in flesh and the Father is the SAME ONE GOD in heaven then Trinitarianism demands THE ONE GOD is talking to HIMSELF! Claiming that God is multiple different persons as the reason for why God is not talking to himself (because God is three different “selfs”) only demonstrates that what they really worship is in fact not a ONE GOD who talks to himself but three different god “selfs”/ and they all talk to each other! When they speak about who God was talking and praying to, they are quick to say “the other person, NOT HIMSELF!” But if you ask them how many gods do they pray to then they will say “ONLY ONE”!?! They expect you to believe that those three different persons are THE ONE GOD-BEING” which is like calling three different cars “THE ONE VEHICLE” (text book examples of prov 26:12)

-PART 5 Echad, Echad, my God, God is Echad!….:The Greek word pros in Jn 1:1 does not demand nor demonstrate multiple different persons because:

      1. The definitions (without forced conclusions stuffed in) are just as equally valid as reference to parts of the same person (modalisim) Your head and your right arm have close relationship to each other; can be facing, towards, relating to, moving to, in the direction of, to, unto, looking to; even at home with, a living union, in the presence of, a common ground, closeness They are still both distinct and different from each other and yet they are of both the same person. Ironically the scriptures use the very same terms to describe father and son.

      2. Ironically and most hypocritically, the trinitarians are trying to appeal to the anthropomorphisms (they claim this passage implies) to demonstrate different persons while at the same time denying the very anthropomorphisms that God himself specifically in scriptures uses to define the son and the son’s relationship to the father. Apparently only the literal anthropomorphisms that trintiarins “see’ exist while the one’s that God himself uses should not be taken too literal or too anthropomorphic or seriously. Is the face anthropomorphic and or literal face or just some metaphor? Either way the problem for trinitarians still exist and simply does not cease with linguistic distractions. There are many different types of faces; face of a clock; face of a mirror; face of one’s palm. Further, the face of one’s palm would be totally consistent with the anthropomorphism that God uses when discussing his own right arm as the son! So either way, a literal and or anthropomorphic face or a metaphorical face in close relationship only leaves the trinitarinas peddling an empty argument hoping no one notices the fact that this argument is nothing more then delusional smoke and mirrors for “the faithful” and for everyone else, well, just “never mind that man behind the curtain”.

      3. You cant appeal to your own desired and or preconceived conclusions as evidence that your methodology in arriving at your conclusions are valid. [ie the use of Jn 1:18 et al as proof that Jn1:1 supports different persons in Jn1:18 et al or visa versa ] How difficult can they make these simple things? The God in heaven is a he but cannot be known except by the he who is the same God in flesh! So why can’t they be the same he again? It should not be difficult to understand since:

      A. The same God who is in heaven is on earth and the difference need only be of circumstance which at least we know that much to be factually true [spirit only v spirit in human flesh] There is no further need or demand for different individual persons since all the different he’s are in fact the same HE!. Trying to claim that God is multiple different “He(s)” who make up the one being either leaves your God to be a “it” that consist of different he(s) or a“God being” who is a he while simultaneously consisting of different individual he(s) [Father-he; Son=he; Holy Spirit=he].

      B. If you find no difficulty in accepting that God is a he that consist of father son and holy spirit also referred to each as a different he and yet all the same he then what is the point to claiming different persons again? How is the multitude of hes who are all the same he show or demand different persons rather than different circumstances of the same person who is in fact “HE”?

In any case, the trinitarian inconsistency and or incoherence will never be resolved by simply chalking it all up to “how great thou art” unless you willingly and blindly “drink the cool aid” calling it “faith”. True faith is in the words of God (including the specific anthropomorphism God himself uses) not in wild created imaginations of three different persons with different minds, locations and instructions for each other that is somehow not a pantheon of three gods who are only “one in terms of purpose not one god!….To deny the father is to deny the son because they are one and the same person that came in the flesh! Trinitarians confess & preach literally …”ANOTHER JESUS” 2 Cor 11:4

-JOHN 14: 8-20 ….[Note Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: …: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, … the everlasting Father] ….The son, father/Holy Spirit are all the same person, NOT like two different persons working together even as “one flesh” ….The “oneness” between Christ and the father is not comparable to a man & his wife, for only a fool would say “When you have seen me you have seen my wife, how sayest thou then, Shew us your wife?” Notice they asked to see THE FATHER and the response was Jn 14:9 ..“HAVE I BEEN SO LONG time with you, and yet hast THOU NOT KNOW ME, Philip…..Now image some fool trying to claim that statement if you asked to see his wife!?!!? You want to see the FATHER but have I been with you but you don’t know me!?!?!
Jn 14 continued….…………..17. Even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; (Jn 14:6 I AM the way, THE TRUTH,) whom the world cannot receive, .. for HE DEWLLETH WITH YOU, (present tense/standing next to them in the flesh) and SHALL BE IN YOU… (future tense “In them”) 18. I will not leave you comfortless: I WILL COME TO YOU (future tense “In them”) Jesus himself here makes the point that the same person who was the HOLY SPIRIT that would come was standing next to them but lets them know “I will come to you again to be Inside of you”

-The whole point to Gal 3:20.a mediator is NOT A MEDIATOR OF ONE, (HEIS) but GOD IS ONE. (HEIS) again, point blank, identifies the number of persons of God! The “but” points out the contrast between multiple persons in a mediation party v the “one” of God. God is not like a mediation party with multiple different persons. …..”the express image of his person” ( the person of God; singular not plural) Any attempt to lay claim otherwise is willful ignorance and delusional nonsense

-Like a thief in your house caught stealing your things insisting he was not there stealing “I CONFESS I am NOT stealing”. You just do not “properly understand” what he is doing/saying. Further, since you never had a “proper understanding” of what he is doing/saying you have no business accusing him since you do not even know what you are talking about in the first place. It is with and in your own ignorance that you base your “false accusations” & “ad homonym attacks” against him…… Ridiculous of course it is ……2Thess 2:11; Titus 1:16; 2Tim 3:5; TRINITARIANS CONFESS JESUS /THEY ARE NOT POLYTHEIST BUT ARE MONOTHEIST LIKE A LIAR & THIEF WHO “CONFESS” THEY DO NOT LIE OR STEAL The simple fact is that just because you confess or deny that you are in an adulterous relationship and denounce all forms of adultery has nothing to do with whether or not it is in fact adulterous! .. …A rose by any other name is still just a rose AND calling it a water lily does not change the definition of what a water Lilly or a rose is either!…

-This should have given you a hint, harking back to Satan in The garden…God said you will die…Satan comes along and states no you will be more WISE……Today .God said He is one; but Satan’s children come along and say no three is more WISE and humble in the face of God’s grandeur only “a mystery” that can be understood “in faith”. God uses head and right arm to explain the distinctions between father and son.. However, the Trinitarian heretics say to the effect: “NO, that is just a figure of speech, or that is not what God really means. What God is really saying is that God is three different persons”. Fools, hypocrites and blind guides, God said he was One and by your traditions have taken the words of God and made them of no effect, refashioning God into the image of your vain imaginations!

      #2 “ANOTHER GOSPEL”:
-If you ask most people what the Good news or Gospel is they will probably tell you about the virgin birth or Christ death burial and resurrection. This would be rather humorous if it was not so sad considering that for the three and half years of Christ ministry he does not mention hardly ever. However, Christ does spend a lot of time preaching out of the OT scriptures. Now imagine given a report or manual to read and understand, that makes reference to and even quotes other source material and then ignoring that source material when it comes to defining the context and meanings of words in the report or manual you are trying to make sense of. If that seems dysfunctional that is because it is. This is, however, what most people are doing when it comes to understanding sound NT doctrine and or even what the Gospel message of Jesus was. The mystery of the gospel was not the death, burial and resurrection although it is part of it. In fact, death, burial and resurrection was the sign, the only sign, that Jesus gave to validate that the gospel message he was preaching all that time was true……and yet most deny it!?!?!

-The “2nd coming”… “I come quickly” so “Hold fast till i come”… NOT …“in another 2000 years I might be coming soon any time now, so hold fast”!?! …those that deny the second coming of Christ in the war of AD70 (in their lifetime) are practicing a damnable heresy in denying the Lord that bought them ( 2Peter 2:1-2 ;2Tim 4:8/ you cant love an appearing you deny& the context is the 2nd coming not the first)… Mat 7:23..”I NEVER KNEW YOU” …..Mat 10:33. But whosoever shall deny me before men……..sound familiar?…. If I said I am coming to your house in this generation when these things happen but no one knows the day or hour what fool would think I might be coming in 2000 years latter!?!? ..2 Tim 4: 4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be TURNED UNTO FABLES. The “idea”/ doctrine that Jesus has not yet returned but “soon any day now soon” does not just make God out a liar; it is not just ridiculous but makes Christianity a mockery, A pathetic “ship of fools”!?!
-The following example excerpt from Bertrand Russell: sometimes quoted by atheist et al and from his published work “Why I Am Not A Christian”
      Defects in Christ’s Teaching
Having granted the excellence of these maxims, I come to certain points in which I do not believe that one can grant either the superlative wisdom or the superlative goodness of Christ as depicted in the Gospels; …. I am concerned with Christ as He appears in the Gospels, taking the Gospel narrative as it stands, and there one does find some things that do not seem to be very wise. For one thing, he certainly thought that His second coming would occur in clouds of glory before the death of all the people who were living at that time. There are a great many texts that prove that. He says, for instance, “Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel till the Son of Man be come.” Then he says, “There are some standing here which shall not taste death till the Son of Man comes into His kingdom”; and there are a lot of places where it is quite clear that He believed that His second coming would happen during the lifetime of many then living. That was the belief of His earlier followers, and it was the basis of a good deal of His moral teaching. When He said, “Take no thought for the morrow,” and things of that sort, it was very largely because He thought that the second coming was going to be very soon, and that all ordinary mundane affairs did not count. I have, as a matter of fact, known some Christians who did believe that the second coming was imminent. I knew a parson who frightened his congregation terribly by telling them that the second coming was very imminent indeed, but they were much consoled when they found that he was planting trees in his garden. The early Christians did really believe it, and they did abstain from such things as planting trees in their gardens, because they did accept from Christ the belief that the second coming was imminent. In that respect, clearly He was not so wise as some other people have been, and He was certainly not superlatively wise.

#3 GOD LOVES EVERYONE; Jesus Died for “you”…… Just “come as you are”
Does God love you?….”Probably” NOT!….and NO Jesus did not die for everyone!?!……There is a sharp contrast between THREE groups : A. The predestined damned B. the “many” called C. The “Few” Chosen
Predestination….its true.. its all true… God does NOT love everyone:

Prov 8: 17. I LOVE THEM THAT LOVE ME …………
1John 5:3. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:

      (1) “PREDESTINED DAMNED” who were NEVER written in the book of life ………..Rev 17: 8 WHOSE NAMES WERE NOT WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, …as contrasted …EPH 1: 4. According as he hath CHOSEN US in him BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD

      (2) “MANY CALLED”= ONLY and ALL SAINTS (those who come to Christ) are written in the book of life … Philippians 4:3… ……Rev 21:27; (Only saints are Called and elect; Rom 1:6-7 et al) This is THE CHRUCH and ONLY these can have their names blotted out of the book of life ….….Heb 12:23 to the general assembly and CHURCH of the firstborn … WHICH ………are WRITTEN in heaven,

      (3) THE FEW CHOSEN: Those saints who were alive in group #2 who are now physically dead. They died “faithful” these are the FEW that were chosen faithful…….Rev 3:5. ……; and I
will not BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, (Ps 69:28) …. These are the FEW that are CHOSEN and now that they have died and are saved then “once saved THEY CAN NEVER BE LOST”

PS: “The world” that God so loved was not the Roman world nor the world of the Maya nor the world you imagined in your head that God specifically told them NOT TO LOVE!?!

NOTE: God placed His “THE WORD” ABOVE all of God’s various NAMEs – and Jesus NAME IS called “THE WORD” no other name saves. The MOST important name we should KNOW and CALL UPON is “THE WORD”; Not letters that spell “word” but the sayings/ doctrine/commands. It does NOT say “thy word is given a name above other names because here THY WORD is identified as the name that is placed above all other names.
Isaiah 52:1. . 6. Therefore MY PEOPLE SHALL KNOW MY NAME: ..What NAME do you “KNOW”.?
1Jn 2:3. And HEREBY WE DO KNOW that we KNOW HIM, if we KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS./ Titus 1: 16. They profess that THEY KNOW God; but IN WORKS THEY DENY him…
“AT the name OF JESUS”…..Jesus has a name that belongs to Jesus…just like the name OF GOD means a name that belongs to GOD but it is ridiculous to suggest that the letters G-O-D is that name…likewise the name OF JESUS is NOT the letters J-E-S-U-S. Why would anyone think that you could pronounce THE HIGHEST NAME OF GOD letter by letter…. (ie Judges 13:18; 2Cor 12:4 but God’s name is not as great and or “unspeakable )
Rev 3:8 kept MY WORD, and hast not DENIED MY NAME; …
      .Jn 17:6. I have MANIFESTED THY NAME And they have KEPT THY WORD.;
THE WORD is THE NAME above every name that saves us 1Pt 3:21 The ONE baptism(Eph 4:5) is into THE WORD ( which is also baptism in the Holy spirit Jn 6:63the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit ) ..ALL the sayings doctrines and commands….what did THE WORD that became flesh command? (Mat 28:19)…..what did THE WORD exemplify? (Mat 3:15/ Jn 4:1)………among other things…..YES .water baptism is just as essential and necessary for much a part of salvation (1Pt 3:21) as is keeping one self away from works of the flesh (Gal 5:21)….In fact obedience to the command of water baptism is specifically identified as the act of calling on the name of the Lord (Col 2:12 “……though the operation[work] of God” CAN ANY MAN BE SAVED WITHOUT GOD WORKING ON HIM?) …..THE WORD OF GOD is the name of God that men call upon OR…OR ..they DENY with their disobedience
The scriptures tell us almost nothing about the thief’s life. However, the scriptures tell us a great deal about Christ life……Jesus had been around for 3.5 years before the cross and was Baptizing (Jn 4:1-2 in fact He instructed his disciples to do so and did many more then John the Baptist ever did) …..Those who try to appeal to the thief on the cross assume the thief had never heard of Jesus preaching and had never ever been baptized….The burden of Proof is on those who say baptism is not essential! ………..You can’t claim a logically valid “non-essentiality” doctrinal argument on ANYTHING based on what the scriptures do not say and in spite of the things it clearly does state to the opposite effect!…That is like looking at the constitutional law and then basing a argument against a constitutional principle in law based on the fact that history did not record for us what some unknown cattle thief did or did not do a 150 years ago?!?! What??..Who cares?? We know what the constitution did say 150 years ago. I don’t know of any Law school that bases its teaching on constitutional law based on what history does not tell us about unknown cattle thieves!?! ..Jesus command, preached & practiced Baptism so did the apostles ….To build one’s theology on the fact that the scriptures do not tell us ANY detail(s) of the thief’s life before the cross (we know almost absolutely nothing about the thief!!) it is quite foolish and willfully ignorant of what the scriptures do say about baptism…….so those who try to use the thief are in effect building their house on the sand of what scriptures do not say about a thief in spite of what the scriptures do specifically tell us about baptism!?!… “Their damnation is just” comes to mind…

Again, ANYONE who teaches a pre-Tribulation rapture is a false teacher! This particular falsehood will cause multitudes to fall away from the faith leading to the Great Apostasy!

Matthew 24:29 “But immediately AFTER THE TRIBULATION [emphasis mine] of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky [lit. heaven], and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect [lit. chosen ones] from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. (NASB)

Mark 13:24 “But in those days, AFTER THE TRIBULATION [emphasis mine], the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect [lit. chosen ones] from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven. (NASB)

This represents two witnesses in the synoptic Gospels. So, if ANYONE teaches a pre-tribulation rapture, they are a false teacher; it’s as simple as that. Matthew 10:22, 24:13 and Mark 13:13 all state that those who endure to the end (i.e., remain a believer in Christ until death or are still living at His return) will be saved.

Also, the KJV is just a translation; there’s nothing mystical about it. NASB is much better. The KJV includes words like the pagan Easter:

Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. (KJV)

Acts 12:4 When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four [a]squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out before the people. (NASB)

Easter is certainly NOT Passover! See http://biblehub.com/text/acts/12-4.htm

If you want TRUE historical events, here’s an example:

Christ’s Birth on the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot) in 6 CE

False church traditions (unsubstantiated embellishments), the precepts of men (manufactured theology), and doctrines of demons (assimilated paganism) cloud the truth regarding Christ’s conception and birth. For starters, one needs to review the program entitled “Christmas Unwrapped: The History of Christmas” from when The History Channel actually presented history: https://youtu.be/XSQYX-OB1Rs.

According to this program, Mithraism and Saturnalia were assimilated from pagan Rome; that’s where December 25th falsely originated; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mithraism, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sol_Invictus, and https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturnalia.

Arguably, the most important quote of “Christmas Unwrapped” occurs at the 7:31 mark: “So if you’re gonna sort through the runes of the Scriptures, Jesus was probably born in the Spring. If the shepherds were out in the fields watching their flocks by night, we’re probably not talking about one of the cold spells at the heart of winter.” — Forrest Church, Minister, All Souls Church

Note: I have no affiliation with this minister or church.

Many “Biblical scholars” discounted the Lucan account because of the mention of Lysanias, the tetrarch of Abilene, in Luke 3:1. They assumed it was this figure from circa 40-36 BCE; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysanias. That was before the discovery of the Corpus Inscriptionum Graecarum (CIG) 4521; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysanias#Archaeological_Lysanias. Again, the Word of God was vindicated as it repeatedly is via archaeology.

Furthermore, when the Book of Luke is placed within the context of the calendar from the Dead Sea Scrolls, not only can one know with GREAT CERTAINTY the month, day, day of the week, and year when Joshua* (Heb. Yehoshu’a/Aram. Yeshua/Gr. ‘Iesous) was born incarnate but when John (Yochanan) and He were conceived.

*Note: “Jesus” incorrectly originates from the transliteration of the Latin; it is NOT the translation. See the second footnote from Matthew 1:1 in Aramaic (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+1%3A1&version=NASB). According to the famous Hebrew lexicographer Reuben Alcalay, Yehoshu’a is closely associated with “Let there be…”

Returning to Christ’s conception and birth… the FACTS unfold as follows, and NO CHURCH currently teaches the truth:

Fact #1: Elisheba (Elizabeth) was six months pregnant in the sixth month; concentrate on vv26 and 36. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+1%3A26-38&version=NASB

Fact #2: Tsekharya (Zecharias) was a Levite of the order/division of Abijah; concentrate on v5. https://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=Luke+1%3A5-7&qs_version=NASB

Fact #3: The mute and shaken Tsekharya returned home immediately after his weekly course was completed, and Elisheba conceived a son. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+1%3A8-25&version=NASB

Fact #4: This is the calendar documented in the Dead Sea Scrolls; see http://www.haderech.info/DSS/Calendar/QumranCalendar.pdf.

Fact #5: For Elisheba to be six months pregnant in the sixth month, Tsekharya (of the course of Abijah) had to have served in the 12th month. The only time this occurs is from the 14th-20th; see Cycle of Priestly Divisions… > Division Year 3 of 6 in the Qumran calendar above.

Fact #6: As Tsekharya (and Elisheba) were righteous and walked in ALL requirements and commandments of the Lord (Luke 1:6), he could not have traveled more than a Sabbath day’s journey (2,000 cubits) on the 21st of the 12th month, which was a weekly Sabbath. http://biblehub.com/topical/s/sabbath_day's_journey.htm

Fact #7: The first day that Tsekharya could have returned home (likely Kiriath Arba — aka Hebron — in the hill country of Judah) was the 22nd of the 12th month on the first day of the week. This was the day that Yochanan (John) was conceived.

Fact #8: After Miryam’s (Mary’s) visitation from the archangel Gavri’el (Gabriel) in the sixth month (Luke 1:26), she left IN A HURRY to visit Elisheba. At the moment of arrival, Elisheba was overcome by the Holy Spirit and knew that Miryam had conceived a child. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+1%3A39-55&version=NASB

Fact #9: Exactly six months after Yochanan was conceived, Yehoshu’a was conceived. According to the Qumran calendar, that would have occurred on the 22nd of the sixth month on the first day of the week, which is the Feast of New Oil!

Sidebar: The Feast of New Oil was also the fourth of four agricultural feasts each occurring 49 days apart, exclusive (i.e., barley, wheat, grapes/wine, and olive oil). Olive oil was a component of anointing oil; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+30%3A22-33&version=NASB. Also, the root of “Christos” (http://biblehub.com/greek/5547.htm) is “chrió” meaning “to anoint with olive oil” (http://biblehub.com/greek/5548.htm).

Fact #10: The gestation period for women is 38 weeks from CONCEPTION (not to be confused with last menstrual period or LMP) to birth; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pregnancy. EXACTLY 38 weeks after Miryam conceived, Yeshoshu’a was born on the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot) on the 15th day of the third month on the first day of the week.

So, now we know the month, day, and day of the week of John’s conception and Christ’s conception and birth. Now, for the years.

Fact #11: Yehoshu’a was born in 6 CE during the census of Quirinius; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Census_of_Quirinius. For the Scriptural reference, concentrate on v2; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+2%3A1-20&version=NASB.

Sidebar: “Herod” was a dynastic title like Caesar and Pharaoh. The “Herod” at the time of Christ’s birth was Herod Archelaus; he was deposed that same year (after the “slaughter of the innocents” in Bet Lechem) and died in exile in 18 CE; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herod_Archelaus. When did the “holy family” return from Egypt after Herod [Archelaus] died? When Yehoshu’a was 12 years old (18 CE – 6 CE = 12 years).

Sidebar: The only verse in the Gospels that contradicts this account is Matthew 2:22. The earliest extant manuscript containing that verse was from Papyrus 70 from the late third century CE (which is “a fairly reliable text, though it was carelessly written”); see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papyrus_70. The “early church fathers” were already at work destroying the truth!

This was what the “wise men of the east” of Jerusalem (Yerushalyim) — 15 miles as the crow flies — in the desert wilderness of Qumran saw on the Feast of Weeks in 6 CE; see http://tinyurl.com/mhbba3l. This was confirmed with our local planetarium in Baton Rouge. The “wandering stars” of Jupiter (representative of the Most High/Father) and Venus (representative of the virgin mother) as well as the conjunction with occultation of Uranus (representative of the Holy Spirit) and Mars (representative of the redemptive Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53) rose in the east in the constellation Pisces (representative of Israel). This “star” sign naturally moved from east to south towards Bethlehem (Bet Lechem) as the evening progressed — just as the Scriptures state.

On the eighth day after His birth (11th of the fifth month), Joshua was circumcised per Torah (=instruction/Law; five Books of Moses). After 40 days (7+33 days) from His birth (14th of the sixth month), the appropriate sacrifices were made for a firstborn son; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+2%3A21-24&version=NASB and https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus+12&version=NASB. As they were poor and could not afford a lamb, they offered either a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons per Leviticus 12:8 and documented in Luke 2:24. They were poor because the wise men had not visited yet! It was on this day, the 14th of the sixth month when Joshua was presented at the Temple, that the following occurred with Simeon (Shimon) and Anna (Hannah); see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+2%3A25-37&version=NASB, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simeon_(Gospel_of_Luke), and https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_the_Prophetess.

Sidebar: The “consolation of Israel” in Luke 2:25 is a reference to Isaiah 40; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+40&version=NASB. Note also the key phrase of Isaiah 40:3: “A voice is calling, ‘Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness…’” This is in reference to Yochanan’s instructing the “sect” called The Way in the desert wilderness of Qumran how to recognize their Messiah from the TaNaKh (OT). Not only was this exact phraseology employed in a handful of the Dead Sea Scrolls, it is also documented in ALL the synoptic Gospels concentrating on Matthew 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke 3:4, and John 1:23: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+3%3A1-12%3B+Mark+1%3A1-8%3B+Luke+3%3A1-17%3B+John+1%3A6-28&version=NASB.

Sidebar: Likewise, the “redemption of Jerusalem” in Luke 2:38 is a reference to Isaiah 52 concentrating on verses 3 and 9; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+52&version=NASB. Verse 6 is regarding the true pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton; see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetragrammaton. Currently, rabbinic Jews recite “Adonai” for the Tetragrammaton invoking the Greek Adonis and Babylonian Tammuz. Christians typically say Jehovah or Yahweh, but the “vav” in yod-he-vav-he is also pronounced like the “o” in Torah, menorah, Eloah (singular form of Elohim), and Yehoshu’a (=Joshua, Christ’s REAL name) to name a few. A DSS fragment has it spelled ‘Iaw in Greek (iota-alpha-omega), which is consistent with Yahoah; see http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/rs/rak/lxxjewpap/4QLevB.jpg. How much more meaning does that give Revelation 1:8, 21:6, and 22:13? See https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+1%3A8%2C+21%3A6%2C+22%3A13&version=NASB. “NT-only churches” miss the subtleties of those Hebraic key words and phrases referencing OT passages.

Picking up on the 15th of the sixth month (the day after Joshua was presented at the Temple), the wise men of the “sect” called The Way (Heb. HaDerech) in Acts and the Dead Sea Scrolls met with Herod Archelaus then visited the family in Bethlehem; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+2%3A1-12&version=NASB. After Joseph’s (Yosef’s) vision on the evening of the 16th, the family departed for Egypt that same night; see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+2%3A13-14&version=NASB. Note that there was a 12 year gap between Luke 2 verses 38 and 39 when the family was in Egypt (confirmed in v42); see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+2%3A38-44&version=NASB. They returned to Nazareth from Egypt after Herod Archelaus died in 18 CE (confirmed in Matthew 2:15); see https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+2%3A15&version=NASB. Why was the flight to Egypt not covered in the Lucan account? Because his was based on EYEWITNESS accounts (Luke 1:2), and the family departed under cover of darkness (Matthew 2:14); that is, there were NO WITNESSES! Apparently, Luke did not travel to Egypt to obtain evidence of the family’s residing there; therefore, it was excluded from his account.

False traditions such as Herod the Great being part of this narrative when he died in 4 BCE and the precepts of men creating the fanciful machinations of the three kings of Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO SCRIPTURAL BASIS! Who doesn’t think that the wise men of The Way in Qumran didn’t have the means to gift Joshua the Messiah (Yehoshu’a HaMashiach) with gold, frankincense, and myrrh after the discovery of the Copper Scroll? See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_Scroll.

      In summation:

      * Yochanan was conceived on the 22nd day of the twelfth month on the first day of the week in 4 CE.

      * Yehoshu’a was conceived on the 22nd day of the sixth month on the first day of the week on the Feast of New Oil in 5 CE — exactly six months from Yochanan’s conception.

      * Yehoshu’a was born during the census of Quirinius on the 15th day of the third month on the first day of the week on the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot) in 6 CE — exactly 38 weeks from His conception.

Sidebar: This is when the “sect” called The Way (HaDerech) in Acts and the DSS made new covenants. Christ’s birth ushered in the ultimate New Covenant! Josephus, a self-described Pharisee (and we know what Christ thought of them in the Eight Woes of Matthew 23) coined the derogatory term “Essenes” (=pious ones).

Fact #12: This historical record — corroborated from eyewitness accounts in chronological order (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+1%3A1-4&version=NASB) — was written to Mattathias ben Theophilus** (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mattathias_ben_Theophilus), who served as the kohen gadol (=chief priest) in Jerusalem from 65-66 CE… just before the outbreak of the First Jewish-Roman War in 66 CE (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Jewish–Roman_War).

**Note: He was referenced as Theophilus in Luke 1:3 and Acts 1:1 just as Yosef ben Caiaphas was referenced as Caiaphas.

The truth is out there if one seeks it. Shema Yisrael!

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. (NASB)

Not only is history, and peoples lineages recorded, but also prophecy and judgment has also been recorded towards nations/peoples that have gone against him and the people he has chosen and boy are there going to be millions/billions of surprised people when that terrible day comes.

      • nomorelabels

Only folks who will be “surprised” are the ones who cannot seem to get enough slaughter and
damnation from their war god. Just what humanity needs…another violent deity who takes no responsibility
for creation, other than to threaten to destroy it and then torture it.

You would think this rubbish alone would be enough for folks to re-examine their twisted beliefs, but
apparently it offers some a feeling of power over others. The old religious dogma instilled into the minds
of the faithful…submit or be tortured. sound like something anyone should “worship”?

People need to think before they blindly allow so much superstitious myths to fill their lives. Seriously,
anyone who “gets off” on this manner of death cult should really stop and think what they support.

We have all been fooled…by the agenda of twisted sociopaths who use your bible to get your support for their
        crimes.

        • Mayhem

People need to think, huh, okay then try this on for size. If there was only good how would we know?

In a nut shell the Bible explains the reason there is good and evil and allows us the choice of which one we chase while acknowledging that the pursuit of good isn’t without sacrifice. I’ve linked to a psychology lecture, further down, that explains this more thoroughly.

You’re right on the money about twisted sociopaths who use the bible to get support for their crimes though. Yeah don’t be letting those guys define your reality.

    • Pink Slime

There are translation errors in the KJV which is disturbing. Don’t know why Yahuah allowed it. Just like the way I don’t understand why he allowed Adam and Eve to be deceived if they were created perfect.

Perhaps physically but not mentally?? Who knows…..

      But certainly Yahuah.

Who knew beforehand what would happen even before he created all of this and when he created Satan. He certainly knew he was fashioning the very being that would ultimately betray Him and Adam and bring SIN into the world with the resulting DOOM and GRIEF.

      • Mayhem

God didn’t promise to preserve the word during translation only to preserve scripture and here we are 2,000 years later having endured countless book burnings and library sackings yet we have the means at our very finger tips to correctly divide His teachings.

Can’t say that about Aristotle, Plato, Plutarch, Origen et al.

        • Pink Slime

I certainly don’t think He wanted His text tampered with.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

          • Mayhem

You’re right and the text hasn’t been tampered with as the Qumran library attests.

You could learn Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek if the English translations bother you that much.

        • The Clucker

About 3 years ago I bought Aristotle’s book “Aristotle-Metaphysics” from a local book store and didn’t make it more than 10 pages in before I realized he was full of shit. I guess I never looked into the translations from original languages and all of that, but he clearly was just making shit up, depending on if it was translated correctly. I think he was more of a snake oil salesman than anything. I guess I’m off topic.

          • Mayhem

You’ve caught me over generalising, Clucker, around a 1/3rd of Aristotle’s works have survived but the point remains the Bible was better preserved.

Anyway he wasn’t an all bad philosopher and you might be surprised just how much influence Aristotle still has on civilized society.

            • The Clucker

I wasn’t trying to catch ya being wrong by any means, and you’re not wrong. I agree, he has contributed many relevant works. It was just the particular book I read where he tried his hand at “metaphysics” that didn’t really seem to make any sense.

I agree, the Scriptures are much better preserved, and are actually preserved so well that it causes atheists and contractors endless headaches whilst running in circles to discredit them… all so that they can live in “do whatever I want land” without having the feeling of guilt tied to it. They want to be able to discredit Father’s Law, so they don’t have to feel guilty about not abiding by it, and they can’t do it. It seems to be an endless source of frustration for them.

It is possible that the problems I see with some of Aristotle’s writings don’t necessarily even have to do with what Aristotle intended to mean, but are simply due to translation issues, which further drives home the point you made. As an example, here is the preface to the book:

“This version of Aristotle’s Metaphysics presents us with what may be described as a Postscript to Natural Science. The new translation aims to meet the needs of college and graduate students. It therefore renders his text into clear English, as accurately as possible, idea by idea rather than sentence by sentence or word by word. The glossary entitled “Analytical Index of Technical Terms,” contains selected Greek terms listed by numbers corresponding to the numbers inserted into the text itself for purposes of ready reference. The Latin equivalents noted have been taken from the translation made by William of Moerbeke and the commentary based on it by St. Thomas Aquinas (Tertia Editio stereotypa attente recognita, Turin, Italy, M. E. Marietti, 1935.)

(Unfortunately I couldn’t find it online so I had to type all that crap out. )

I guess my point is that you are right. Anyone who read through that would realize that what is actually known among scholars about the teachings of Aristotle is a bit speculative unto itself, and is not as well preserved over time as the Scriptures. Not only that, but in this instance it is clearly stated that the texts are reorganized for the use of study, instead of being presented in the original order.

            • The Clucker

              detractors* not contractors. Sorry.

            • Mayhem

Thank you, Cluckenbruder, for taking the time to write out the Aristotelian preface because in it lies the answer to why his treatise on metaphysics is difficult to digest.

You see; Aristotle is trying to explain the cumulative result of the humanities (natural science) all the while ignoring the underlying principles that give rise to the most profound aspects of wisdom.

Jordan B Peterson fleshes this argument out in his Biblical series especially…

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdrLQ7DpiWs

… and soundly makes the case that Atheism is predicated on the very essence of a divine binary. Just don’t get hung up on his Buddhist or Trinitarian references because for one he’s only acknowledging that all religion (including heathenry) attempts to explain the inexplicable and secondly he never refers to the Spirit as a being. If nothing else Dr Peterson demonstrates the proper use of metaphysics but his lectures aren’t for the easily bored.

Plus there’s quite a few apologetic nuggets, in his way of thinking, that are very useful in countering unbelievers. Like, for example, the tired critique of how a loving God could allow cancer and earthquakes.

They also found the Dead Sea scrolls slightly before the creation of the nation state of Israel. Was it…

1.) Forgery to lend the creation of Israel relevance… or

2.) Divine intervention that a boy looking for his lost sheep happened upon them.

Seems Oddly coincidental in some respect, but God did say His Word would be preserved, so this is an issue I wrestle with.

That is not correct, unidentified, Edgar Cayce argued the Essenes were not a monastic group but an inclusive society and he was validated when the Qumran find uncovered proof that women were part of the group.

The hall of records, which he did predict, is supposed to be underneath the Sphinx and no such library has yet been found.

        • The Clucker

I wonder if such a library exists, and if it did, I would assume the materials within have been “shuffled away” to some other place by now, if not destroyed or hidden in the past. Obviously that’s all just my speculation.

          • Mayhem

Destroyed would be my guess given the Sphinx stands out and garners a fair bit of attention because of it. Who knows but it seems to me an out of the way cave would be a much better hiding place than a man headed lion statue, carved out of sandstone, in the middle of civilization.

Yes the Hindu Veda’s and all its books are quite the historical document

and don’t forget Buddhist scriptures, Buddha was alive and existed

      • Mayhem

Tommyrot; the Veda’s are all over the place as i’ve demonstrated time and again but just say the word, Man, and i’ll do it over.

I mean they’re not even consistent as to the creator or the creation which, you might agree, is the fundamental premise on which much of the ongoing narrative rests.

In plain terms; any idea that begins in contradiction is unlikely to eventually make sense.

    • Firmament Does Exist

The story of original scripture, not the changed Jesuit KJV that removed all the Hebrew words and names, is written on The Heavenly Scroll first meaning the constellations. Original meaning of the constellations is the story of the Messiah as lamb and King…also the holy days of Passover, first firsts, Pentecost, trumpets, atonement, and Tabernacles is the annual wedding rehearsal that “Christian’s” don’t know as they follow Rome’s calendar, translations and Babylonian sun worship with sun day, christmass, Ishtar sun day etc….
