On tonight’s program we will be examining the doctrines of predestination and election and comparing them to the doctrines taught by John Calvin

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6 (KJV)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we tackle a topic that has divided churches, caused dissension, and given birth to any number of heresies over the past 400-plus years in the Christian Church. Of course, I can only be talking about Calvinism and the doctrines of election, free will and predestination. There is no other topic, except maybe for the Pretribulation Rapture, that will fire people up so fast as Calvinism. But we will not shy away from looking at what John Calvin taught in the light of Bible doctrine rightly divided, and we’ll not be afraid of what the Bible has to show us. John Calvin was not a prophet, he was not an apostle, he was a man just like anyone else born outside of the Bible. But Paul was an apostle and what Paul wrote is scripture and as such is perfect truth. We hope you will join us for this very important program with an open mind and a loving heart.
