Mining Shares Redux

The wonderful thing about the internet is access to the entire spectrum of opinions on any given topic.  Not to mention Miles Franklin, where the views of David Schectman, Andy Schectman, Bill Holter and myself are available EVERY business day.

In the Precious Metals “shadow world,” few – if any - dispute the value of PHYSICAL gold and silver.  However, the value of “PAPER PM investments” like mining shares are hotly debated.

On that note, the indomitable Ann Barnhardt recently put out a series of thought-provoking videos…

For generations, we have been brainwashed into believing “zeros and ones on computer servers” represented wealth; but clearly, that is not necessarily the case anymore.  Financial assets have all but DESTROYED broad swaths of investors – WORLDWIDE – while only PHYSICAL gold and silver have consistently outperformed ALL asset classes for more than a decade.

In other words, in a world where “buy and hold” no longer works in essentially ANY market, it works better than ever in PHYSICAL PMs – irrespective of daily Cartel suppression…

There’s no need for me to rehash my personal views on mining shares; culled over “TEN YEARS OF HEAVEN AND HELL” owning and working for mining companies – described in great detail in numerous RANTS over the years.

However, suffice to say I permanently abandoned all PAPER investments 18 months ago; realizing that not only are they heavily manipulated – thus, rendering fundamental and technical analysis obsolete – but just as likely to DESTROY one’s wealth as PROTECT it.
