The privately owned Fed is already putting together final negotiations with Asian and European entities to concert the dollar into Euros. When concluded the 1% of Old Money will be preserved. It will ne the 10% of the new money that will be wiped out. As the rest of us truly suffer we will se the US government nationalise, and then sell our natural resources to offshore governments and people like Soros. And we will become the virtual slaves.

There are so many ways that Russia can retaliate besides not repaying their US debts or cutting off our gas. Since they face the real possibility of getting completely banned from SWIFT they could like form their own version of it. Technically that wouldn’t be too difficult. They could use existing architecture like Clearstream.
Then they could “freeze” (i.e. steal) all the Loro accounts of every western bank in Russia, and even if the west did the same thing, they’d still make out like bandits on that. They’ve already deported a couple of high-ranking business people. I know a guy who got deported for JAYWALKING.
Then there’s Ulyanovsk. They could close that and NATO would have no other way of resupplying their troops in Afghanistan except via the very dangerous Af/Pak border areas. All this would cost the west a whole lot more than 15 billion Dollars in default. Nevertheless should be interesting what happens on Monday with that Rosneft rollover.
And if the do decide to cut our gas, I’m set. Got 3 woodburning stoves installed and enough wood for a long time, and come to think of it, gas is my biggest single expenditure at 150 Euros/month, so in the end they’ll actually be saving me some money.
