A clearly frustrated President Trump raged over Twitter this afternoon at the father of a UCLA basketball player who downplayed Trump’s importance in getting his son released from shoplifting charges in China…

As a reminder, LaVar’s son, LiAngelo, and two other players were arrested and accused of shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store while the UCLA basketball team was on a trip to China for its season-opening game.

The players faced potential jail sentences for the charge, but Trump reportedly spoke to Chinese President Xi Jinping about resolving the situation. The players were released, and landed in the United States last week.

Trump took credit for their release, and questioned in a tweet whether the players would thank him.

The players subsequently held a press conference last week and apologized for the incident and thanked Trump.

However, as The Hill reports, ESPN on Friday asked LaVar Ball, the outspoken father of LiAngelo and Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, about Trump’s role in bringing his son back to the United States.

“Who?” Ball responded.

“What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out.”

“As long as my boy’s back here, I’m fine,” LaVar Ball told ESPN.

“I’m happy with how things were handled. A lot of people like to say a lot of things that they thought happened over there. Like I told him, ‘They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.’

I’m from L.A. I’ve seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses. My son has built up enough character that one bad decision doesn’t define him.”

Trump is right. But remember what I said about Negroes. YOU CAN NEVER GET ALONG WITH THEM. If he did nothing he would be called a racist, and if he did do something they wouldn’t appreciate it because he is a racist.

You can never win with Negroes. And Trump is right, they might have spent years in a Chinese prison. He did something enormous for them, but the racist Negro will never appreciate it because he is an ungratefool Negro. Only worried about his skin color and that’s WAYCIST!!

Why help someone who committed a crime?
Trump’s too kind hearted trying to help people.
Like I said initially, I would have let them rot to
face the penalty of law like everyone else there.

Kind-hearted? Did you just arrive on this planet? No, he’s smoothing ruffled feathers to protect the trade deals he made with Xi Jinping.

We need to be more like N Korea. Our laws don’t mean shit here. If they did our cities wouldn’t be swarming with criminal invaders.

It insane how much american society will pamper intellectual midgets just because the can play with balls good.
It is the case of a couple of spoiled rotten pampered americans tried to take our corruption to another country, a country that obviously doesn’t want it.

And I don’t blame them. I remember when there were no protected species and people were expected to reach adulthood with self and social responsibility.

I don’t know why President Trump bailed their goofy asses out to begin with.
There are a hell of a lot more pressing problems he should be working on.

California taxes pay for these students to play basketball. No basketball players = fewer taxes and these kids can find a career in the real world. Why does this insane charade of expense continue?
