As soon as this video stopped rendering, we had a 36 hour blackout. If we weren’t ready with propane and prepared to close up the tiny home, we would have suffered. Many people nearby live in unsafe trailers and homes that aren’t ready for deep winter storms for this region… When a disaster like that strikes, you have to be ready to improvise. We closed up, double insulated the windows, baked and cooked inside using the propane and stayed comfortable with everyone on the loft. What are you missing in preparing for extreme weather? Maybe you’re area is used to cold and not ready for sweltering summer heat, maybe you’re used to hot dry weather and not ready for floods that will kill your crops. No matter how prepared you are, there are things that sit outside of each of our preferred skill sets. What are some things that you might want to improve upon for your homestead?
