Zosimos Botanicals Product Review

Several months ago I was contacted by Zosimos Botanicals to do a product review. Normally I don’t do product reviews, but in the preceding weeks, I had been asked by several friends what products they should be using for eco friendly shampoo and other cosmetics. Plus I was a Henry’s and got into a discussion with a woman who was shopping for eco friendly shampoos for her grandkids. It was confusing for her and myself reading all the labels ergo this post.

Zosimos Botanticals, is a 100% wind powered mineral makeup company who makes everything fresh, in other words products are made to order which eliminates ‘stale’ merchandise as well as waste. All ingredients are plant-based raw materials, including pure plant oils, natural waxes, herbs, extracts, floral waters and essential oils. No animal testing is performed.

I said yes, received the products and here is my review. I ordered products I use everyday to make sure I use them!

Zosimos Apple Orchard Hair Shampoo: 8 oz $20.00. Loved it. You don’t have to use that much shampoo, I liked the fact it didn’t ‘bubble too much’ as the stuff that makes things bubble (lather)  is not good for the environment. My hair felt soft and smooth. Since I never use conditioners, it didn’t come out too tangly after washing. The plastic bottle is a PET 1 category.

Soap- Lemongrass Natural Soap- $5.00.  I have really dry sun damaged skin. I grade every soap on not only the ingredients, but also how much lotion I have to put on after the shower, how dry and itchy my skin is afterwards and how much skin flakes I get at the end of the day. After using the soap, I did not immediately start slavering lotion all over my body. I rate this a 9. (10 being, never having to use lotion again) The other thing, I like was the soap did not dissolve immediately, so it lasted longer than some other soaps I have used.

Natural Deodorant Roll On in Lavender (Vegan) $13.00. I was a die-hard Secret wearer, but since finding that it was not good for the environment, stopped using. Have tried going ‘au natural’ and have done some homemade deodorants. It was a relief to actually have on hand a deodorant that worked. Pet bottle 2.

Since I travel, I also ordered the ‘trial size’ version. These will do in a pinch, easy to keep in your purse, car or suitcase for emergency situations, but if you are a heavy sweater use the 3 oz. size. These are trial sizes only, although I did take on a short trip, it was fine for that.

They have quite a wide variety of products, lots of eye makeup which look interesting. I only use mascara and that they didn’t have. Thinking back, I would have ordered the lipstick, the colors look interesting and it would have been a good test, as a lot of lipstick makes my lips crack and bleed. That sun damage is a killer when you age.

All in all, I would recommend the products, I liked them a lot, my favorite is the deodorant, which I badly needed and hate to make my own!
