SoapWorthy Saturday: Bar Soap And Shampoo By Godai

Normally I don’t do product reviews, hate to write them and hate the pressure of having to do a post! But I was contacted by a Made in USA, certified organic bar soap company, Godai Soap. They filled all my criteria: Buy Local, No Plastic, minimal packaging, organic and a one size fits all meaning I can use the same soap to wash body and hair. 

Not only that, Godai is also GMO Free, 100% Vegan and Cruelty Free.

After deciding to try it, Godai sent me a sample set of delicious soaps-shampoos. The ingredient list .. can get whet your appetite: Sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, palm oil, safflower seed oil (this is great for dry-sun-damaged skin) barley grass, green clay, shea butter, jojoba seed, clove oil, ginseng, rice bran oil, lemon grass, madder root, cocoa butter, lavender, Turmeric, orange oil, rosemary, eucalyptus, avocado.. you get the picture.

Since I don’t wash my hair every day so to take a little bit to evaluate the overall results. It also is a good test to see if the soap leaves a greasy residue and I can actually go 4-5 days without washing my hair. 

The other criteria was the result… does it actually look good without conditioner (stopped using that years ago) and without blow drying. After a friend of my told me my hair looked really good, what more could you ask for!

The overall results:

Hair, was squeaky clean, didn’t tangle and feels softer and fluffier.

Skin: My skin is really thin, dry and sun damaged skin. I don’t use ‘commercial’ soaps, because after using my skin is so itchy and dry. Did not have this problem. In fact, just to test, did not do the lotion smather and was fine all day.

Scents: I loved the scents, but they do have a unscented option

It lasts: After the last 2 months, still have a half bar of soap left. Tried the other flavors: Fire, Wind, Earth, Sky and Water (Sky my favorite) but stuck to one primarily to test how long it lasts.

Cost: For the 5 pack it is $31.95 or $6.50 a bar. This is comparable if not cheaper to other organic bar soaps.

Would I purchase it again.. yes, loved it.. NO PLASTIC, less stuff in shower,  supports small business.. why not feel good and look good.
